I don't think it looks like one in that gif. Could be wrong though.

Nope.

If that was an Alabama player, though, this board would be in outrage.

Did not see most of the game.

He got a flag for that? The frick? It's called fricking momentum, douchebags.

Where were the officials from?

No, but in today's game of football defensive players basically have to realize that "going high" and laying the wood on a QB will usually draw a flag. Refs are now "protecting" QBs and it is what it is.

No. It was as clean a hit as Dial's hit on Murray.

In 2013, when you "lay the wood", you are supposed to hit QB's in their knees. Duh. Helmet to knee. do it.

It can go either way. From the refs standpoint behind I'm sure it looked dirty.

According to the rules that have been being enforced this year....

1. he lead with this shoulder
2. He hit him high
3. intentional or not, there was helmet to helmet contact. (facemask counts)

While I do not agree with it, according to current rules and enforcement, this is a flaggable hit.

As to the title of the thread, is it a DIRTY hit?

Absolutely not. A dirty hit would denote an intent to hurt someone, which I do not see in this play. I see a defensive player laying the wood to a QB like players have been trained to do for 80 years.
