I'm not arguing for him to be on the team. This more of a personal defense of one of our players.
Just saying the "only has 8 100+ yard rushing games in his career" is a little more impressive considering he has only played in roughly 25-26 games, as opposed to 36 or so.
Interesting.
Todd Gurley has 8 100+ yard games in 12 games.
That's the same amount as Lattimore in his whole career. Weird.
And Gurley sharing another 1000 yards with another running back too.

Its not homerish at all. McClain was a Butkus Award winner, best player on an undefeated bcs champ, and a top 10 pick. No rings for Jones, no Butkus Award, also lost half his career to USC/transfer year. Having no defensive players from Bama on a 2006-2012 sec list is laughable. And nfl struggles aside, McClain is as worthy as any with his resume.

Those are some good candidates, but I wouldn't include any of them due to the fact that they never played in the SEC.

Gurley's #s are comparable to Lattimore's Freshman year. Gurley has slightly more yards and a better YPC, but Lattimore had 1 more TD and far better receiving stats.
I also imagine Gurley is working behind a better OL. We'll see how he does when he can no longer surprise people.
Oh and he is 3-0 vs UGA.

I don't think number of rings should be a factor in deciding which linebacker is better.

alabama. all players. b/c they'd beat the pros.
Kicker: one of the Florida or Auburn 9000 (eta: GAME starting) SEC starting kickers. It feels that way to opposing teams, and we always hate leaving it in their hands...or feet.

Sorry Snatch...I'd leave off McClain until he can reclaim himself at a place outside of Oakland. I believe he can, but he has got to stay away from Decatur, where idiotic arguments become greater.

Just a beastly team. What about reggie nelson? He was maybe better than barron.

Is this list based in pro accomplishments or college accomplishments?
McClain is one of the best linebackers in the SEC in the last decade. That isn't debatable. He started from day 1 and won the Butkus as a junior. His college career was good enough to get him drafted 8th overall, almost unheard of for a MLB

Good question, if it's college, it's hard to leave Chase Coffman off this team. If it's pro, it's hard to leave Aldon Smith or Sean Weatherspoon off this list.

Missouri wasn't in the SEC until this year so no players count unless they were on this year's team. Same goes for Texas A&M.

Shockley03, I think it's safe to replace Lattimore with Trent Richardson. Even the gamecock guys agree he doesn't belong there. And the Bama guys seem to like Richardson more than Ingram.

Jacob Hester's wikipedia page says he was a halfback his while college career, not fullback, and didn't start playing the position until 2008 when he was in the NFL.
He played a little fullback in junior year at LSU, but was the starting tailback his senior year when he actually put up his numbers.

How is Chance Warmack not on this list? One of the best Guards in College Football over the last decade.

Sean Chapas was an actual fullback, 6-2 and 240 pounds, lots of blocking, not alot of carrying, but punched in the goal line big boy TD's when he needed to. Sporting News named him "SEC's Best Blocking Back" in 2009. He was the overall team captain in 2010.
According to his wikipedia, he was drafted by the the Cowboys specifically as a blocking fullback.
All this I say because:

Not reading 13 pages. Has anyone said DJ Williams at TE?
Mackey winner and 2 time finalist and all

TE was probably the second most argued position.
I still think Orson Charles is the better of all those nominated.
