Had that happened it would have been a penalty.

I wouldn't chime in if I were you either after the MSB beatdown you took.

Yea Murray wasn't a defenseless player in any way, shape, or form.

And since Murray wasn't a defenseless player in the Dial hit, Dial IS allowed to hit any part of his helmet to Murray's EXCEPT the crown of the helmet. And Dial didn't use the crown of his helmet, so......CLEAN HIT. NO PENALTY.
But the Elston hit caused a suspension, and its nowhere as blatant a hit as the one YOUR team laid on Murray. I'm just saying its getting fishy around here, thats all. Good luck, but GO Irish.

If you think it should have been a penalty, please explain which rule you think Bama player violated.

Dude nobody gives a shite about Ole Miss or your DB. I know you made it to 6-6 this year and get to go to Birmingham for a bowl, but you're still completely irrelevant.

That's because the Elston hit is ILLEGAL and the Dial hit isn't.
How hard is this to understand?

He can't give you one because the rule doesn't exist.

Last year in the title game when we whooped your arse we only had one penalty all night. Are the Big XII offices in Birmingham too?
The REC reach is further than we can ever imagine......
Like I said, here's to hoping they get plenty in the NC game. It would be great to see all of the whining on the Rant.

LEARN THE DAMN RULES
I'll say it again, the NCAA defines a defenseless player as any player not directly involved in the play, as in receivers not being thrown to, lineman jogging down the field on a run, ANY player that isn't in on the action per say. MURRAY JOGGING DOWN THE FIELD IS A DEFENSELESS PLAYER

But do you understand that the Elston hit was illegal because a WR making a catch is defined as a defenseless player whereas the Dial hit was not illegal?
Surely you understand the relevance of that fact

Dont hijack the thread, this is about the sec championship game. We all know your officiating sucks.

Now, somebody get me a definition of a "defenseless player" so we can sort this out.

Murray was a defender preparing to make a tackle. He was not away from the play. The play was coming toward him. He was a potential tackler. He is a legal target.

Oh really? Because in your very own OP you put a picture of Elston and compared the two and you continue to bring him up.
Posted on 12/3/12 at 9:26 am to ibleedprplngld
Murray is standing less than 10 feet from the ball when he was hit. He was a defender. You see the other guy raise his arm? That because he was going to set up a block for Ha-ha to run around. Dial did the same thing.

A defenseless player is defined as one not directly involved in a play, as in Murray jogging in the direction of the INT, so therefore he was a defenseless player and it should have been a penalty by rule. Now again, i disagree with the rule, but it is the rule.
No. Murray was at most 8 yards IN FRONT of the developing play. He was definitely blockable. Try again.

All I know is that I've never heard of a defenseless defensive player.

You need to go back and read the definition. The NCAA defines a defenseless player as someone who is obviously not involved in the play. Someone standing around 20 yards behind the play is obviously not involved in the play. Someone in front of the play and jogging toward the play is not obviously not involved in the play.
