Have fun eating chicken sandwiches in Atlanta.

Also sorry you coonasses have to go to the Peach, but hey there is always next year.
Don't understand why Aggs are afraid of the Longhorns. Must be the history of getting beat. If you guys are gonna rep the SEC, you need to grow a pair!

LSU vs Michigan would be the more intriguing match-up.
Les Miles, Michigan man, passed up the job twice.
LSU and UM have never faced each other.
Les Miles versus his Alma Mater. You know he'd make quality television leading up to this game.
LSU versus Texas? who cares. TAMU vs Texas is more intriguing.
agreed. I like either matchup for us, but beating the shite out of texas would make for a fun offseason.
surprised tigger still posts here.

"Sip"? How is that supposed to be offensive to longhorn fans? I mean I hate Texas too, but i'm wondering what the motive behind that nickname was..

This is a huge non-story. A&M isn't "ducking" the Cotton Bowl. The Capital One Bowl gets to pick first. The Capital One Bowl thinks Texas A&M is its best pick. The Cotton Bowl would LOVE a Texas/Texas A&M match. It would easily be the best non-BCS bowl of the year. But it's not up to the Cotton Bowl.

Not scared would just rather have the national exposure against Michigan also the Cap One is a better bowl and the game isn't on Fox.

Or you could just, ya know, explain it without the panties being in a wad

228, the abbreviated story is that longhorns are basically hoity toity upper society who look down on us poor farmers/soldiers. They would rather be on their porch "Sipping Tea" than fighting in wars like Texas Aggies.

So many mad aggies up in here. They don't seem to want to accept the advice/knowledge of teams that have been to that dump in Orlando before. Who knows they might actually have a good time considering their dream vacation is probably Disney World. Just maybe y'all will be able to ride in the same tea cup with jizz jar Johnny and then he can sign your overalls while you are creaming them.

It's more like you LSU fans sound butthurt as frick and I don't really know why, you beat us.

Nobody is butthurt on this side of the table. I just find it funny that you act like the Cap One bowl is so great. My opinion is that any bowl outside the BCS is really irrelevant in the whole scheme of things.

Exactly why all of this is stupid. A&M just isn't familiar with success yet and the disappointment of being an elite program in a non-BCS bowl. Also, couple that with the controversy of them possibly playing Texas in one of these 2 bowls (the Cotton Bowl to be precise) and clearly the rationale will be the Capital One is better, because well it doesn't matter what aggy does, clearly they HAVE to be in a better bowl than Texas. When you come to the SEC you should have thrown all this stupid anti-UT shite to the curb, its stupid and annoying and applies to no one who matters within the SEC. How about just get to winning games like this year and stop using weird little names or conspiracy theories to justify yourselves because you aren't an elite program yet. A&M may be well on their way, but for now you're going to have to shut the hell up until your wins column is worth a shite, or you actually have a trophy worth a shite.

One slight issue I have with the Cotton Bowl is that it is televised by Fox, not ESPN, like every other bowl except the Sun Bowl which is televised by CBS.
By virtue of not being on an ABC/ESPN channel, you lose a lot of the talk/advertisement for the bowl.

I doubt there is a noticeable discrepancy if at all in terms of the amount of attention either bowl gets. If A&M is what you think it is then their name should determine the attention.
Remember, its the COTTON BOWL and the CAPITAL ONE BOWL, both non-BCS bowls that people aren't going to care a lot about. Most average college football fans will inevitably divide their attention between the BCS/ non-BCS, and the level of coverage is divided in that way as well with the BCS bowls getting more pub because those are the best teams of course. So ultimately its a wash in determining whether the Cotton or Capital one is better than the other, A&M is going to a solid bowl, and had a solid season. Just win your game, get to 11 wins, then take that into your next seasons' rankings. No one is going to care about your capital one bowl win 2 years from now if you are playing for championships. Now, if you proceed to suck then I'm sure you'll have to look back on it as your most successful moment.
Both games are played early in the day and actually the cotton bowl's ratings were a 4.3 last year and the Capital One was a 2.86. Depends on who is in the game and either game will be equally intriguing considering the potential matchups for A&M.
