Pretty stupid. They also tried to force him to register as a sex offender but at least that was shot down. He did something that goes on all the time in locker rooms around the country.

Michael Vick received a lesser sentence for killing dogs. Donte Stallworth received a lesser sentence for killing a man while driving drunk. THIS is the guy our legal system does after?

He willingly pleaded to this sentence. I feel compelled to keep posting this because apparently people don't know that he took a deal. He was free to fight it and have his day in court. He declined that opportunity.

Because the alternative was futilly fighting it, getting ten eyars and registering as a sex offender. Do you have any idea how plea deals work? It isnt about "fighting for what's right". If your lawyer says "they have a case that WILL get you convicted" you take the deal. Doesnt mean you want to.

This idea that he took the deal because he had "accepted" the punishment or thought he deserved it is the most idiotic fricking thing I've read in a long time. He took the deal because butthurt Louisiana had a hard on for him and he had no choice.

Put a sock in it dude.. No one wants to hear anything resembling reason around here.

You are missing the fricking point and beating the hell out of that straw man. He pleaded to the best deal he could get. No one gave him 2 years. He took it. He was free to fight it if he thought he could get a better sentence otherwise. He chose the certainty because their was an overwhelming amount of evidence to support his conviction. Boo hoo for him. Have fun whipping that straw man.

Your ignorant arse must have not read anything in this thread. Yes it goes on in locker rooms. This case was in PUBLIC. Also, players in locker rooms know each other (doesn't make it any less weird). And they also don't film it. GTFO.

I have sex with my wife pretty frequently.

Were I to have sex with an unconscious stranger......yeah. They might frown upon that a bit. No?

His lawyers likely assured him that he COULD NOT get a better deal, thus the reason he took it. The evidence was rock solid. The point is that the case was clearly only pursued out of spite and was a ridiculous exercise in American judicial lunacy. If LSU had won and the teabagger had been wearing purple and gold, it wouldnt have ever been a thing.

And you have no fricking clue what a strawman argument is. Worst missuse of the term ever.

The intellectual dishonesty in this thread is remarkable.

One thing that I have learned from reading these threads is apparently there are a large number of men dragging their nuts across other men's faces in the State of Alabama.

If it had gotten the amount of publicity that this crime got, I promise you it would have gone the exact same way. It was an easy slam dunk case with a ton of publicity. Has nothing to do with the football game.

No one said it was. They said he willingly accepted two years.

Strawman - a weak or imaginary opposition (as an argument or adversary) set up only to be easily confuted

Looks like it is a textbook strawman. So now we can add "doesn't know what a strawman is" to the list of issues with your debate skills.

I've been pretty luke warm about the entire thing. The other poster likened this act to what occurs in locker rooms (willing, conscious participants) vs unconscious, unwilling.

That is the gist of my post.

I've said I have no issue with the sentence and would have no issue if the sentence were to simply 'write 50 lines'

You get arrested you sign up for the punishment. Simple as that

I compared the Penn State fanbase's blind faith in Joepa and Sandusky to the Alabama fanbase's vehement defense of a man that removed his dick and balls from his pants in a public restaurant and filmed himself placing them on the head of a non-consenting, unconscious person. How you all can possibly think that that behavior is anywhere near acceptable speaks volumes.

That is where you went wrong. You lied about the Bama reaction. No one is defending the act just the level of punishment. "You are in idiot, Jack!" - Si

It's almost like they forget BRPD arrested the starting LSU QB a week before the 2011 season started, all because of some grainy cell phone video taken at night of a guy that witnesses claim was Jordan Jefferson.

But no, we bent our whole legal system just to go after a guy that put his nuts on another man's head.
