How much time did Jordan Jefferson get for assault? Louisiana, setting their priorities.

There's plenty of posts in this thread saying it was drunk fun or something of the sort.

Someone even said the judge and the prosecutor are idiots for pursuing the case.

Look for yourself.

Gotcha. You mean Downing, Sandusky, and probably Hill then?

I remember last January when this was breaking and everyone was talking up Mettenberger on the rant... One guy said, "if he needs to grope girls in bars, let him do it as long as he's throwing touchdowns".

Firstly, I think kids make mistakes. I certainly don't begrudge Miles for giving Hill or Mettenberger a chance to reinvent their reputations, and I know circumstances vary. Secondly, I certainly don't think a 30 year old guy rubbing his balls over someone in Krystal deserves much sympathy. That said, to say that Alabama fans as a whole are morally corrupt and sell out for football victory, and to fear what would happen if Sandusky happened there, when people are making similar posts about their own teams' players is just a bit hypocritical. We already have LSUTool minimizing the girl by calling her a skank. It happens in every state.

So I assume you know little to nothing about that particular case.

If he'd been a man he would have asked the judge for 5 minutes with him and settled it properly. If the judge had denied him he should have hunted him down anyway.

stat19, there are very few times I agree with your posts, but this is one time. The teabagee should have asked the judge for one thing, the teabagger's home address and left it at time. The teabagger would have to worry every day about the teabagee waiting outside his home for him to leave or return home.

This is the big issue.

1) Posters are (as a group) lazy

2) Message board allegiance groups (fanbases?) look for 'gotchas'.

So, IF a Bama fan says "this is a bit harsh"...2 things will often happen

1) ALL Bama fans are lumped together

2) Reductio ad absurdum is applied

To Wit: "Bama fans think it is okay for a grown man to pull out his junk and accost innocent helpless people? Like 8 year old girls with cerebral palsy? YOU FOLKS ARE SICK. THE ENTIRE STATE SHOULD BURN!!!"

Conversely, Bama fans will post:

"LSU allows arse murderers to skate as long as they have eligibility and skills"

It is silliness

Yeah, we only did it because we were mad about 21-0 and stuff. STFU.

OP, you should probably change the thread title to say that he'll get out in 9 months so these Bama fans can stop shitting themselves.

If Downing thought it was such a bad deal, he could have fought it, he didn't have to take the plea bargain. He's lucky he got the bargain.

He should have to register as a sex offender, IMO. People get on the sex offender registry for far less.

It's so weird how people are so much alike and all they do is focus on the things that make them different and then demonize each other.

I really don't think message board fodder between teams is that different from political rhetoric.

He pleaded. He was free to go to trial and get less if he thought he could do so. My guess is that with overwhelming evidence against him, he could not have prevailed.

If you are unhappy with two years, contact yer boy and tell him he should have fought the man.

Seems excessive, especially for a city like New Orleans.

Then don't willingly accept that punishment if you think it is too harsh. He obviously thought it was at least commiserate with his crime and probably a lot better than he would have ended up with if he would have forced the DA to secure a slam dunk conviction against him.

Pretty stupid. They also tried to force him to register as a sex offender but at least that was shot down. He did something that goes on all the time in locker rooms around the country.

Michael Vick received a lesser sentence for killing dogs. Donte Stallworth received a lesser sentence for killing a man while driving drunk. THIS is the guy our legal system does after?
