How good is JFF's arm?

I was thinking about how he might project to the next level. Honestly, the best comparison that I can think for Manziel is Michael Vick.
Vick, of course, went #1 in the draft, but Vick has a legit cannon of an arm. What kind of arm does Manziel have? I've seen the guy play several times now, but it's tough to get a read on a guy's arm strength unless you're really paying attention to certain throws. And I haven't because I've mostly been completely dumbfounded that I was witnessing a white man run that goddamn fast.
Talk to me.

he has an average college arm. It would be well below average for the NFL.

Is it definitely going to hurt his draft stock?

manziel doesnt have a cannon. hes accurate though. if he wants to go to the NFL, he needs to develop his arm strength

Watch some of his big throws: LINK
He has incredible accuracy and touch, which is completely overshadowed by his scooby doo runs.

Has lots of room to improve arm strength. Accuracy is great though

Arm strength is something you either got or you ain't got, right?

He has a decent arm.
Biggest flaw for him is his size. I know drew brews can be a comparison but his arm is probably the best in the league.
But too early to tell. Call back in two to three years when he is up for the draft.

You tell me. He's thrown at least 2, maybe 3 75+ yarders and several 40+ yarders

it can be improved. it will never be great, but he can defiantly improve it

His arm is good enough IMO.

Yes and no.
The improvement in his mechanics demonstrated his arm was stronger than it appeared originally. And he still has room to improve there.
He doesn't have a cannon, but his arm strength isn't poor at all.

Pretty accurate and weak.
Although his downfield shots have gotten exponentially better.

Considering he zips so many of those off balance across the body style throws that are more arm strength than technique, I would say it is at least decent. I am sure it will get better under A&M's excellent S&C coach.

Also should be noted the kid's a ball player, as in baseball.
You'd think that would indicate some level of arm strength. But from what I've seen, it's just not really there.
Again, though, shots down field are night and day to what they were.

Yards after the catch doesn't matter in terms of arm strength. Very few college or NFL QB's can throw a football 75 yards. I doubt that Manziel is one of them. For example, and unofficial NFL record: The longest pass in the air was 83 yards thrown by Don Meridith to Bob Hays. LINK

the best comparison I have seen is comparing JFF to Doug Flutie.
Comparing him to Vick is pretty bad imo. Vick is the kind of quarterback that will only do one of two things, either he will go for the big pass to make the yardage / score or he will take off and make the big play with his feet.
JFF is different, because he is patient enough to get the 5-10 yard passes or whatever the defense will let him get. This is the same MO that Doug Flutie had at Boston College, but most people seem to only remember the hail mary pass.

Good enough to set almost every record in college football. Enough said.
