Suppose A&M hadn't left the Big 12

As it is, A&M is 10-2 in the toughest conference in the nation. Leading the SEC in most offensive categories with one of the most electric players in the game. They had losses of 3 points to the current #4 team and 5 points to the #7 team.
The conference they left behind had 8 teams that allowed 52 points or more at least once. With their offense and the lack of quality teams (or defenses) in the Big 12, A&M likely goes undefeated and goes to Miami and gets to play a Bama team that they did beat this year.
oops. Sorry Ags.

They'd have lost to some other mediocre team like LSU and Flarda.

I doubt it. The teams that A&M lost to were able to contain Manziel. There aren't many Big 12 defenses that are capable of doing that.
Plus the Ag defense was decent enough this year. Even in a bad game for the defense, their offense can more than hold their own in a shoot out. I'm close to positive had A&M played in the big 12, they'd be playing for the title

They would not have fired sherman if not for SEC move, IMO

Here's the flaw in the argument:
If we wanted to be the best of a mediocre at best league, we would have retained a mediocre at best coach.
Mike Sherman would have had us between 5-7 wins AT BEST in the SEC.

Anyone else think the Kansas St. Game would've been a toss up?

Dont forget 9 of the 10 B12 teams are making a bowl...
More thank likely A&M's D would still break at some point and they would lose a conference game in the B12. The pressure that the style of play A&M and the B12 plays put on the guys in the secondary makes things happen and makes it much easier for a dumb loss to happen. All it takes is talent a the skill position and not quite enough legit guys in the 4 deep at corner to give those teams a chance.
The bigger question is, how did one of the worst teams in the B12 become a front runner in the SEC in a span of an off season? Either A&M squandered a ton of talent or the SEC is not ready for A&M's style of play.

The type of teams we struggle defending are prevalent in the Big 12.
We could have easily dropped one to OSU or OU.

did you not watch us last season? we had double digit leads in every game except OU. we should of went 12-1 last year but Mike Sherman is terrible at making adjustments.

We squandered the every living shite out of our talent last year. People just saw the record and made assumptions. That being said, we would lose 1-2 in the Big XII this year. Our D is paper thin in the secondary, and nobody was able to pick on us except for LaTech (which was a perfect storm of injuries and suspensions vs. a top 5 offense).

We've been one of the best teams for the last few seasons...

quote:its neither. its that we finally have a competent coaching staff. we have a roster that has multiple 5 star and 4 star recruits, its just we have had some of the WORST coaching staffs that have messed it all up. the difference is that now, we actually have a decent coaching staff that knows how to use our players

in the Big 12, A&M likely goes undefeated
Not so fast...
Ags offense was balanced and we scored a lot last year. JFF has been great but we had a pretty prolific offense last year as well.
Ags defense against the run is pretty good, not great. We were good against the run last year also.
Ags secondary is our weakness on defense. We were absolutely horrible against pass last year.. Ark can attest to this. Secondary is much improved but still a weakness.
SEC teams we played this year just had wrong kind of passing attacks to take advantage of it. Best passing attack we faced was La Tech and the score speaks for itself.
Ags would not have gone undefeated in the Big 12 in my opinion. Probably 1 or 2 losses and in the hunt for the title.
Ags of 2011 is very similar to 2012 except last year we had an NFL type QB minus the scrambling ability of JFF and a much more conservative head coach. We also had a kicking game. We had more of a power running game last year and we would have won 5 or 6 SEC games last year also.

They'd be in the BCS title game.
That's pretty Aggie thing, move conferences and miss out on your first BCS title game.

New league, new AD, new coaches, new schemes, new opponents, new venues, new QB = 10-2 in SEC.
How about we not make this about the Big 12 where defense is optional the holding calls are rare.
Lets give credit the leadership at A&M and Coach Sumlin who understands CFB and the Staff he hired.
If you accept the fact that A&M validates the competitiveness of the Big 12 against the SEC, the you have account for Missouri. It just doesn't wash.
We came to win and that's what we are going to do.

There defense would have been torched by passing teams. They actually fit in well in the sec defensively.

Don't care. They're in the SEC now.
