Do Bama fans know how big this week's matchup is in BR?

I'm talking from the standpoint of how it's being taken here locally. You guys should be proud; this is being treated like a bowl game here in Baton Rouge. It's big.
WAFB- the local CBS affiliate- is running an hour-long pre-game AND POST-GAME special before and after the big game.
Folks, this doesn't just happen for any old opponent. The appreciation for what this game has become in the last few years is at a very high level.
And make no mistake- despite all the shite-talking we do here- the respect is there.
Just thought you'd like to know that.

Most of us with any maturity at all understand. Some of us with a desperate need to demonstrate swagger, as if the success of our program defines our own dominance in life, will not understand. Hopefully, those outliers will be the ones hit by the liquor bottles thrown by your outlier fans in BR.

Goes both ways.

I'm pumped too man! Bama's a great team, and if LSU shows up, it will be a great game.

just wish i could be there. going to BR for a bama/lsu game is on my bucket list.

Most reasonable Bama fans understand that LSU may win. Lsu is one of the few teams that make us grab for the hard liquor and Xanax. Lsu has the talent to beat any team on any given day, just as Bama does. We will just have to come ready to play and see what fate has in store.

This is the biggest game in Baton Rouge, since 2003 Georgia, IMO.

Yes. Bama deserves much respect. Solid program throughout the years. As a child, i listened on an AM frequency as Bama beat my beloved Tigers 3-0 Since then i want to beat Bama always.

I am extremely excited to attend my favorite tailgate in the country. It's gumbo weather.

As big as that game was this feels way bigger to me. I can't remember a game this big since I've been alive.

You and me both! I was listening to John Ferguson calling that game- the year was 1979 and it was being played in a DOWNPOUR!

Yep. We are fully aware. I believe most Bama fans will openly admit LSU has become Bama's biggest rival over the last 10 years primarily because each team stands in the other's way in order to get to ATL but particularly once Saban came to Alabama the venom from LSU fans took on a whole new level. If LSU beats Bama then most likely they'll be playing in Miami and vice versa so yeah we're well aware of the intensity this rivalry has become. UT and AUB are in the crapper and Florida is not a yearly opponent. I have a feeling this rivalry will remain at fever pitch for many years to come.

How'd that work for Florida in '09?
