I know it is, and relative to the rest of the college football it appears they are.

I actually think it is pretty wide this year, but that will answer its self after the season is over.

You can't hit something you can't catch.

And your Big 12 defense hasn't seen an offense like Bama has either.

We've never seen a good running back like y'all have, even though Gillislee is better than anything you have on your roster. But the Big 12 had about 15 QBs last season better than AJ. If that makes you feel better.

If I were you I'd definitely be worried about a QB that is worse than Johnny in every single passing category too. Imagine if Bray magically became the SEC's leading rusher as well? He would be like 80% of the player Johnny is. Damn.

It might be. I haven't seen enough of Oregon yet to decide. That Mariota is good, but he doesn't seem to have that strong of an arm, which could really hold him back against SEC defensive backs and their closing speed.

Ok, since I took us off, I'll try to get us back on:

Alabama has not played an "easy" schedule, and saying it's like Boise is ridiculous. HOWEVER, Alabama has not proven itself the way you expect a #1 team at this point in the season, because the nonconference big game was diminished by the shellacking and the subsequent loss to Notre Dame, and the conference schedule is back loaded (yes, we avoid UF, UGA, and SCar, but there will be plenty of meat by the time we start talking about BCS title game resumes...certainly more than many previous champions.)

But back to my previous question - wouldn't the same argument that puts Florida #1 actually make a better case for Notre Dame...unless you ASSUME that LSU is a super elite team?

I actually think Oregon can hang with Bama. They actually have a pretty good defense up there. I just don't think the super fast paced offense is the right method to take a team like Alabama down.

I thought the same thing but I wasnt going to say anything. We have a true fricking freshman that I would put up against Gillislee any day. Yeldon is the effing man.

They've blown out that Boise State schedule, and haven't had difficulty with any "Bowling Green types" unlike the Floridas and LSUs of the world.

BTW Michigan should be ranked.

I can't think of a single example, though, where an SEC team with an elite defense gave up massive points to a high powered passing attack in recent years. I can imagine a good team beating Alabama, certainly...but I just don't see Oregon doing it.

This. They got shut down in 2010 by a less than stellar defense.

Oregon may be improved, but they'll be facing a defense that is far and away better than Auburn 2010.

Wonder if Teletubby shows his face after Bama manhandles little Johnny and his teammates? I seriously doubt it.

Well yeah, you gotta be able to run and pass to get the job done. Else the defensive front is pinning their ears back and attacking the QB, and few offensive lines could stand up to that.

I don't understand what the first point has to do with the second. Oregon is a run first offense.

All you dumbfrickingtards keep forgetting that we played Michigan and Arkansas too, who before the season started, were supposed to be VERY good teams.

It's not our fault that Arkansas shite the fricking bed and Michigan was over rated.

I agree. Every school makes their schedules way in advance. Nobody can help how good/bad a team ends up being by the time they play. It's idiotic to think otherwise!!

Soft schedule and a mulligan even if they lose a game. Great time to be a Bama fan.

Maybe it's because we've won two of the last three national titles.
