I'm just glad JFF is in the conversation, albeit mostly from Aggies but still.

I think hes got one aspect on lock down, if/when he becomes an above average passer he will be unstoppable

Big if

the thing with the tebow comparison is hes not quite there leadership wise yet, but hes a fish among upperclassmen, after a season of being a starter he should have that taken care of as well

AJ is a good qb. I just think that it is really hard for him to shine in our system. As a matt of fact I think that it would be hard for ANY qb to really shine in Sabans system. I'm not complaining about it, it's obviously been effective, but a qb in our system will never put up eye popping numbers and will not be a serious Heisman contender...

Now let the flaming begin...

Don't know that I buy that a Bama QB can't win a Heisman. Anyone that is leading NC caliber teams has a shot. The problem for AJ is he isn't a real "playmaker" or someone that throws up stats. Not saying he can't make plays but he isn't going to get many Sportscenter highlights.

FWIW, Manziel would be sick in Bama's system. I think a more mobile QB that can still make great decisions would be far flashier and get more hype.

I never said that a qb cant win the Heisman, in our system. It would be very difficult though..

Tyler Wilson is tough, but his leadership is questionable. He should have been able to keep this team together. Instead he called the team out after a 52 pt beat down at a press conference. Then they proceed to lose to Rutgers.

I know.

The LSU offense has a long way to go before Mett's numbers can look anything like McCarron's.

Wilson should have called out his teammates - in private, not in public. He has a great skill set, but calling his bros out in public may not have been the smartest decision.

Especially given all the turmoil at Arkansas right now.

It's McCarron behind Bama's OL. No discussion needed.

FIFY

Objectively, I think there are a number of QB's including Aaron Murray who could perform just as well behind Bama's OL. Murray has done pretty well considering our OL is not very good.

JUNIORS

1. Tyler Bray | 6'6, 213 pounds | Quarterback | Tennessee Prospect notes
2. Logan Thomas | 6'6, 262 pounds | Quarterback | Virginia Tech Prospect notes
3. Aaron Murray | 6'1, 211 pounds | Quarterback | Georgia Prospect notes
4. Casey Pachall | 6'5, 226 pounds | Quarterback | TCU
5. Zach Mettenberger | 6'5, 230 pounds | Quarterback | LSU
6. A.J. McCarron | 6'4, 210 pounds | Quarterback | Alabama

Are these not pre-season draft rankings? Does anyone now rate Mett, Murray and Thomas above A.J.?

Besides, the question relates to college performance, not pro potential.

Murray shrinks in big games, Mett has a huge arm but is a statue in the pocket. Thomas has a great body and huge arm but will make a better TE than QB. Bray has a million dollar arm and a 99 cent mind.

Put JFF on any other team and what's the outcome? If your answer is "improevment," there you have it. I can't think of any other QB in the SEC that would make A&M's offense better than Johnny Messiah.

Lol, no.

We don't throw the ball enough for it to matter and we don't run a Mickey Mouse Offense any longer.

If you were starting a team with Alabama's OLine and 2011 Arkansas WR corps, who would you pick to be your QB from the current SEC QBs based on what we know about them?

Tyler Wilson. Without a doubt.

Give me a couple of more years where I actually see that Johnny Football can consistently throw a forward pass and punish a legit defense for stacking the box with a safety spy, and I might change my answer.

But based on what we know about all these QBs now, the answer is Tyler Wilson.

Some delusional fans claimed it was Bray or Mettsiah. Is there any doubt that halfway thru the season, it is hands down AJ McCannon followed closely by JFF.

Still Bray.

Can you name a ranked opponent that Bray has thrown more tds than ints against? I know he hasn' t beaten a ranked opponent.

Murray has good stats against unranked teams but has wilted on the big stage. He has an awful record against ranked teams. I think this year GA is more talented than anyone in the SEC. They have three first round picks on that defense. Yet they still manage to underachieve.
