The roundtable on WJOX just reported that both Hart and WHite tore ligiments in their knees and will be out for the year.

That sucks. I'm guessing Calloway gets moved back to RB. Drake's our new 3rd string RB.

Both will be missed. Hart was getting more and more touches in the return game and was a beast on the kickoff team.

When I saw the medical staff checking Harts knee and the amount of movement that was present...I told those around me he will need surgery.

no way a knee should have as much movement as his did without something torn.

Now I just worry whether or not Hart can come back from his second injury to the same knee. You know it will have an affect on his mental game.

I got a sick feeling when I saw them do that test on the field. It displaced a lot. It's only supposed to be like 5 mm of movement (virtually none). His whole lower leg moved about an inch maybe more. Sucks because Hart was really coming into his own and hitting the line of scrimmage with some serious violence. Seemed like the light was definitely on for him.

Blake will stay where he's at, Drake just moves to 3rd string in Dee's role behind Yeldon

Someone mentioned how good Dee has been in kickoff coverage; well White has been very good as a gunner on punt coverage. He's done a very good job of beating his man and forcing fair catches.

Hate to hear that for the both. Especially Hart though. He worked hard to get back. Hope he gets alot of support and is able to recover again.

eta- And you're right Sarc.. DeAndrew was a big impact on the return game. He's going to be missed as well.

This has been a rough early season on players as far as injuries go. I hope it's not foreboding for what the remainder of the season has in store.

I think Calloway and Sims will get some reps this week at RB. We are deep at WR and I don't think they burn a RS on anyone as they will add extra reps to the 2 deep.

Calloway
Most definitely will be at RB IMO. Sims might be our 2nd string QB (even if it is a platoon situation with him and Ely), so I don't know if we are to the point yet where we'd use Blake back there.

And people question why Alabama looks to take two RBs every recruiting cycle. We were rolling five deep to start the season. Now we have two true freshmen backing up Lacy.

Hate to hear this news. The week off will give the staff time to adjust.

News is a fricking bummer. No one knows if Lacy stays healthy; Drake and Yeldon are great but green and not great blockers. Anyone who says Hart and White aren't significant losses is sunshine pumping.

Are there any guys that were redshirted that might now have their redshirt burned to cover the possible depth issues?

Not really. The only WR or RB that is redshirting is Chris Black and he's still recovering from a shoulder injury. I guess Eddie Williams could be moved back to WR but I doubt it.

ETA: Freitag could burn a r/s if Calloway is moved full time to RB, but that's pure speculation

That's who I was wondering about. I admittedly know nothing about his progress or why they chose to redshirt him.

They have Sylve, but it wouldn't hurt to have Williams since Belue might miss Missouri. Hope they recruit heavy at DB.
