I still remember 2003. The media all but anointed the '03 Sooners national champions after their 65-13 win over Texas. I remember the shock and awe in the media when little old Kansas State blew them out in the Big 12 Championship Game. They didn't just beat them, they blew them away. I think the score was 35-7 or something like that.

I won't believe we are national championship material until Saban raises that crystal football over his head in Miami this coming January. I don't know if that will happen but, until it does, let's just take it one game at a time.

I come to the SEC Rant to check out the news for all the SEC teams, including Alabama. I am not going to go to every team forum to see if anything new is happening.

And if you want to get technical, than shouldn't you be posting exclusively on the LINK.

When the SEC Rant is gone, it's going to be a sad day, because some people enjoy talking to fans of other schools besides the one they follow.

He's in every Bama thread. That's how you can tell Bama is in his head.

I think they are a bit overrated to be honest, well not overrated, I think they are #1 at the moment

Just in the sense that I have seen the last 2 games and it seems teams are gifting hype to them. WKU was moving the ball on bama in the first half and they just coughed up a fumble and another fumble then another...it's like come on bama is good enough on their own with out teams gifting them shite. After the third turnover I changed the channel

Then Arkansas bent over for bama...the snap over the head, I think I changed the channel after Arkansas second tipped ball interception

I think bama is a notch below last season for the moment, specifically on D, that could change with some experience. But I feel the same about LSU to be honest

Definitely. Bama's defense plays a little too soft for my liking. I've seen a few arm tackles/bumping rather than wrapping up, coverage was too soft sometimes, things like that. The offense is much better than last year's, but you're right about the D.

I'm shocked LSU fans are the ones replying, obviously they've beat some serious teams and deserve all the accolades..

I agree 100%. It's not like he's saying Alabama isn't as good as people think they are. He's just saying they really haven't been tested enough to prove it. I have no problem at all with his comments.

He's right, but that could be said for everyone in the top 10, If one loses of course they're overrated

Come on poeple, the winner of the LSU-UA game will be 1/2 the NC teams. The loser could be the other 1/2...

Since when does the opinion of a shitty NFL draft "expert" matter in regards to the merits or lack thereof of a college team?

No one is out there putting LSU on this rediculousy high, unproven pedistal. LSU fans aren't making unsupported cliams either(neither are Bama fans). The media should slow down a bit and see what happens. Way premature at this point. Bama hasn't been tested. I know LSU hasn't either. There's really nothing to talk about here except the wasted breath of Mel Kiper.

I think there's an overreaction to Alabama right now. They beat a depleted Michigan team and depleted Arkansas team. Alabama has not been tested yet, even though people want to act like these were statement games.
This is a fair point.

It doesn't really matter. We will find out as the season progresses.

Well they played a Michigan team who was missing their starting running back, thus putting the game on the shoulders of Denard Robinson only. Then they played an Arkansas team with their starting quarterback out. So, yes I could say they are very untested.

I agree completely. The only place worse for instant overreaction to each and every game than ESPN and a few other outlets is the SECR.

Whether Bama is overrated, lucky or just bad arse dominate will determined.

On the other hand, it is an SECr FACT that Bama only wins games over overrated teams.

Darren Sproles went full beast mode in that game. And to think the CFB had the audacity to let oklahoma play in the MNC when they didn't even win their own conference
