With USC's loss, ESPN now has a new frontrunner in the Heisman race

Our very own Aaron Murray
Now granted, he won't win the Heisman. I know that. Just thought it was interesting they have him out front right now after week 3. Btw the link is to a premium article (which I can't read) but it's there in the first paragraph.

If he somehow wins it's because he hasn't had to play Bama or LSU.... again....

Funny. What cost Barkley was that SC couldn't beat Stanford, what will cost Murray is when he can't beat SC... again.

Wasn't long ago I was hearing Bray for Heisman

It's hardly EVER the favorite to win.
RGIII
Cam
Tebow
Ingram
None of them were really favorites before the season started.

So we're playing...A&M in the SECCG? Cool.

Missed that. Made one list that I saw.

Lacy's to lose if he stays healthy.

I don't know how Geno Smith isn't the frontrunner. It's not like he's going to play a single team this year that has a defense worth a shite.

I agree, it should be Lacy getting it if bama doesn't lose. And I don't see them losing.

Just get ready for the buzz saw that LSU is walking into this weekend. We're running the table.

Through 3 games:
Lacy- 30 carries for 126 yards (4.2 avg) and 4 TDs
Gurley- 28 carries for 276 (9.9 avg) and 4 TDs
I'm by no means saying Gurley should win the Heisman, but it's stupid to say Lacy should definitely win it just because he's the starting RB on the best team.

You know who the supposed Heisman frontrunner was a few weeks into the '09 season?
Greg McElroy.
True story.

Yeah except Hilliard has as much yards as Lacy and Yeldon combined and just as many TDs as both combined

And that changed, just like Murray will. I said in the OP that he won't win it. Won't come close I bet, almost certainly won't get an invite.
I just thought it was cool he was getting some props so far. But as the season goes on other people will definitely start putting up major stats, and of course in a few weeks the media will forget about Barkley's awful game and probably start trying to crown him again.

Lacy's best is ahead of him though now that he's looking healthier. If he just ups his production a bit he'll be looking at 800 yards, 20 TD's, and a trip to New York.

And if Gurley ups his production a bit he'll have 1200 yards, 15 touchdowns, and about 3 KO return TDs.
I just think it's silly at THIS POINT in time to say Lacy should win the Heisman. There's absolutely no justification whatsoever to say that, other than he's a starter on the best team.
