Going by production:

Amarlo Herrera at UGA has been really good.
Cam Lawerence is a tackling machine.
CJ Mosely has had a great start to the season.
Jon Bostic has been strong for Florida.
Andrew Wilson has been pretty good for Mizzou - forced 3 fumbles already.
Kevin Minter for LSU has been making plays and is up there in tackles.
Jonathan Stewart at A%M has 22 tackles in two games...
Shaq Wilson at SC has made big plays

I think the best freshmen so far is easily Antonio Morrison at Florida.

Just throwing some names other than Jarvis Jones out there.

Cam Lawrence

26 tackles, 1 sack. but i still would not put him in top 5 there are just too many very good lb's in this league.

By the end of the year, I'd expect Hubbard to be near this conversation, but I don't think he is yet. IMO

Hubbard is a goofy looking goon. Yall got hard penises about him just because of his height and weight, but Courtney Upshaw he ain't.

Will develop into a beast. This kid is super talented and another one of Saban's big-arse linebackers.

I still can't believe we passed on Kwon Alexander. The kid may be too small for a Saban LB but I would have taken him anyway as a situational player. Hope he has a wonderful career at LSU.

Jarvis Jones is clearly #1.

Then is gets closer in comparisons after that, a bunch of good LB's were already named in the thread.

Can we call Clowney a LB or is that experiment over? He would have made one monster of a jack LB for Bama.

He's the top returning tackler in the SEC and he can call out plays before there ran and he's not a top 5 linebacker? Wrong

That's right. Somebody has to make the tackles. This kid is good so I don't want to dis him but he wouldn't crack the two deep at Bama.

He still lines up at a LB spot in some situations. We move him all over, even like a DT spot. The goal is to find him 1-1 matchups during passing downs.

Minter has been unbelievable so far. He leads the team in tackles.

Dang y'all are some freakin' homers. How do u mention the league's best linebackers and not include Daren Bates? Guy's one of the best LBs to come through the SEC in a long time. It'll be a sad day for AU nation when he graduates.

Yeah, I'm glad he seems to have bounced back from his knee. Do you think we backed off because of his size, his injury or both?
