i like how these threads are going

2 weeks ago auburn would get beat because of what we don't have (proven qb etc.) now it's auburn should take care of clemson so the pendulum has clearly gone full shift.

I think this is all a set up for the "but how in the world could you lose to clemson" threads if the unthinkable happens.

The comparisons to WVU game from last year are dumb. AU doesn't have anything close to the WVU offense.

Something resembling a top-flight SEC defense needs to show up for AU this year. Clemson ran up 624 yards in the game last year. If AU can hold them under 400 yards this year, they should be fine. AU has enough offense to win, if the D does OK to good, and they don't lose the TO battle.

he was injured last year...I thought he redshirted. Either way...didn't play much if at all. Now he is the starter at left tackle...much like Greg Robinson who was also highly heralded and while 3 OL positions weren't determined until yesterday (Dismukes aside) he was penciled in as the starter after Spring...like Cyrus.

Cyrus and Greg were not close to the same caliber of prospect. Cyrus was put on earth to play LT. He also played in 8 games last year before his injury.

Auburn doesn't have the offense to keep up with Clemson. AU's best weapon is a TE, extremely green O-line, and Frazier at QB screams disaster on offense.

Boyd will exploit that secondary. AU doesn't have the talent in their back 7 to keep up with the Clemson skill players either.

This game will more than likely be a blow out.

The problem with you is no matter how wrong you are, or how often you're wrong, you'll just make another prediction as to the futility of auburn football.

And on the off chance you're ever right...well i have no doubt you'll break both arms trying to pat yourself on the back.

also what the frick is this?

Any rational person can easily see Clemson just flat out has better players than Auburn right now.

If Auburn were to win it would be a huge upset, great coaching job by Chiz, or a horrible game plan by Dabo.

Even without Watkins Clemson is 2 Tds better than AU.

This game could get ugly.

AU wins a close one with Clem - beats the shite out of MSU in week two - kicks LaMo to the curb - and LSU spanks that arse in week four in JHS. Ends September @ 3-1 heading into 4 straight SEC match-ups.

O rly?

What other skill players besides Watkins are you going on about? They have Boyd. A less experienced OL than we even have, replacing their TE, still questions at RB. Oh yea, their defense isn't anything to shake a stick at either. To say they are clearly more talented is hackish at best.

i think we can be more physical on both sides of the ball, but losing a center with some experience and talent is going to make it much harder...

We've had a physical camp, no doubt... I think we'll be ready... limit CU's big plays (which should be easier with Watkins out) and we can win.

24-21 CU is my prediction... we're just too inexperienced on offense to do enough to win.
