Corndogs is so dumb, inaccurate, unoriginal, and misguided it makes my brain hurt.
Corndogs refers to that musty, yeasty smell of an LSU fan inebriated with Bourbon, gumbo, gator tail, dixie beer and washed up out of the swamp. Then baked all day in the 100 degree heat 90 percent humidity that preceeds a night at Tiger stadium at game time.

CL comment section is so torturing to read but hilarious at the same time.
ETA: I know my user name makes me come across as loving the gay arse nicknames, but I can honestly say that I've never (while being serious) said the word "bears" in reference to OM or the letters "tsun."

I hate all of them. It tells more about the person who says it rather than who they are referring to.
People who actually use bammer and barner in real conversation, and yes it does happen, are ridiculous. However, most of the time when used on the Internet, it's just trolling.
Even worse are things like UAt and UTk but that's an entirely different matter.

Gumps
Gomers
Bamsters
Mullets
Mullet Nation
All apply to Bama.
you also forgot for LSU:
Swamp people
Corndoggers
Coonasses
Not one of those has anything to do with LSU.
Swamp people? There are 4 1/2 million people in the state of Louisiana. You know how many live in the swamps?
The actors that do the "Swamp People" show live in trailers on the production lots. That's about it.
People don't 'live' in swamps, unless of course they have them there on the 'Plains.'
Coonasses? Less than 6% of Louisiana residents are of French-Acadian ancestry. It is truly stupid that people think all Louisianians are Cajun, and that all Cajuns are LSU fans.
ULL's mascot and nickname is actually the "Cajuns", not LSU. Jesus fricking Christ
Corndoggers? As afore-mentioned, that bizarre moniker was cut and pasted by one of "YOUR" Auburn bretheren from Iowa and Nebraska message boards.
It has less than zero to do with LSU.
Maybe you Auburn people love it so much and started it because you have them for Sunday dinner ?

Yeah I can't remember ever seriously using a stupid nickname, and I think most of them are pretty lame, but they don't bother me so much on message boards. What's bad is when you hear someone say it IRL

the ONLY reason Auburn people call LSU people Corndogs is that it pisses you guys off so much. that woulda been forgotten a long time ago if the moniker hadnt stuck.
even CBS at half time has been known to refer to corndogs.

And it only has "stuck" for Auburn and Shama people. Geeee, I wonder why that is ???? Because it is probably the most monumentally awkward and incongruent nickname in the history of sport.
Clue: Corn is in Iowa and Nebraska. Hence - they call each other "corndogs".
CBS? yeah, umm I believe you...

Kinda insulted that nobody's mentioned "aggy" yet. Apparently this big12 holdover is supposed to be great sport as a put-down for A&M, but I honestly could never find anything to get remotely worked up about
Is aggy really supposed to be insulting?
I never really saw bammer or barner as that insulting either.

I use UPig because I don't know Arkansas's actual abbreviation (AU? UA? Don't we already have one of each) and an Ark sounds like a boat. Not typing out the whole goddamn word.
No disrespect intended, but UPig it is.

As far as names for Alabama, they are all pretty much stupid.
Bams, Bammer, Parole Tide, etc, all stink.
The only one that is funny is "Gump". Its easy to say, has some punch and some relevancy to the actual university. Of all the insult nicknames that come my way, that's the one I think is probably the most appropriate.

Corndogs is funny because of the context by which that name came about. Some Auburn fan said that LSU stadium or fans (can't remember which) smelled like corndogs. I don't even think that's really a bad thing. Corndogs are delicious. But the nickname is hilarious.

Ok, here are my top ones. If its not on my list, you don't have a good one.
Alabama - Gumps
LSU - Corndogs
Florida - Jorts (can't believe nobody brought this one up)
Auburn - The Barn
A simple play on words doesn't make a nickname good. Faggies, Ole Piss/Myth, LSWho, Gayturds, Volunqueers, etc, are all just dumb.

damn, i thought y'all were aggies. wouldn't the singular be aggy?
seriously, i always thought aggy was just a misprint or a plain ole missspelling. many people don't have a clue what aggie even means. i have to admit, until i heard some team out west (new mex?) called the aggies, i thought it was unique to a&m.
