i can't believe this is a consideration - mett over aj.

The responses give proof that most people who choose mett are always going to work for someone else and top out at $14 an hour.

Makes no sense whatsoever. I'll ask you a similar question I asked a gump who didn't answer.

Who would you take Michael Ford (proven against SEC like Aj) or TJ Yeldon (unproven against SEC like Mett)?

LSU QBs posted 2,135 with 21 touchdowns last season

McCarron posted 2,634 yards with 16 touchdowns.

(Ignoring the fact that the 2 bum QBs we had posted more scoring than AJ) The passing numbers boil down to a difference of 49 yards per game in favor of Alabama. I'm confident Mettenberger can add at least 49 yards per game to the LSU pass offense.

Amazing that no one can answer my question regarding Ford and Yeldon.

Yeldon plays for Alabama bro. Thats proof enough in itself. League fuuuuuuuucked! Michael Ford got nothing on Trent Jr. Yeldon

McCarron: First Year starter

Lee/Jefferson: Seniors that had both gotten serious playing time since 2008.

Jefferson posted a similar 2,000+ yard season with 17TD and 7 INTS in his first season as a starter. Then he preceded to go full retard on the league for the next 2 years.

This thread is stupid it reminds of the summer after JJ had a good game in the Chicken Bowl and was better than Mcelroy. How any LSU fan can have any confidence in this staff to actually develop a QB is beyond me.

For those selling AJ short as if he is some 3 star McElroy type of prospect. He was an elite 11 QB top 100 prospect and had national offers. By the way he was rated above Mett.

I seriously doubt Mett has made up ground while getting poor coaching at a nowhere Juco, and taking 3rd team reps at LSU under that horrible offensive staff. Mean while AJ was coached by a QB coach that got both Bamas last 2, 3 star QBs on NFL rosters. Not to mention all the in game experience he gained last yr. On the road in Happy Valley, the swamp, in the Dome.

If Mett was really so great he would have played period.

Jordan Jefferson was a 4 star. By the way he was rated above Tyler Wilson. Don't mean shite bro.

ETA: Jarrett Lee was an Elite 11 guy too. Whoa!

This is all useless babble. AJ didn't do shite for a year, as he redshirted in 2009. Then was the backup on a team that lost 3 games in 2010. ZM was behind 2 experienced QBs on a team which went undefeated. There wasn't much chance to play him. But hey lets pretend most QBs don't sit for a year and learn the offense.

Lets also forget that Gary Crowton was the OC and QB coach who was responsible in large part for the development of Jefferson and Lee. He's fresh off of getting fired after ruining former ACC rookie of the year Danny O'Brien. BTW, Cam Newton really sucked dick after getting poor coaching at a nowwhere JUCO.

Neither JJ or Lee were close to the prospects AJ were in high school and neither will earn a paycheck in the NFL. Cam Newton was a five star and athletic freak. He success had very little to do with coaching. He could not even draw a simple play on the white board.

The fact that this thread debating whether you would prefer a guy taking third team reps, behind 2 horrible QBs on one of the worst passing offenses in the country the last 3 yrs in a row.

While the other guy was coached under a competent coaching staff for 3 yrs. Oh and he happened to be the MVP of the National Championship.
