At least Alabama played its worst game on 11/5 and was still competitive and in position to win on multiple occasions. LSU was never a threat to Alabama on 1/9. Plus I think that just shows you what kind of a team you have when it plays its worst game in the game that matters.

1. Bama loses, they didn't play their best.
2. LSU loses, LSU played their best.

This is all I'm gathering here.

That's too logical for Bama fans to follow.

Ok, so the consensus is that LSU did not play their best in the first game, either.. Maybe they will in November? I would like to see their best game against Bama in Tiger Stadium..Seriously.. It would be fun..
Can any of y'all maybe ask them to play their best?

Saban's comments concerning playing LSU last season
I'm just playin LSU guys! Don't get too huffy..

But let's talk about the first game.. Did LSU do their best in that one? The 3 point OT victory? When Bama brought their A game they won by 21.. All poor ol Saban was saying was he felt that he knew his team's best was better than the other team's best..

It's cool get back. No problem.

All we are trying to get across to you is that we had our chances in game one also.
We did rush for 148 yards. We caught a wide open pass on the Bama ten, and fell to the ground without realizing we could have WALKED in.
Our TB's left toenail molecule scraped the out of bounds chalk in OT, or it's 13-6, not 9-6.

And your 3 missed FGs were all makeable, I'll grant you that. So....why were TWO of them short and the other one short and wide ?????

You asked if LSU did their best in game one?
Besides the above examples, I'll give you one part that we DID 'do our best.' - in OT.
Your team went backward in OT and missed another FG.
Our TB's left toe was out of bounds and instead of 13-6, we had to settle for 9-6. Oh, and our FG kicker made his....

Also, as has been mentioned, LSU missed numerous opportunities in Game 2. Penalites, stupid false starts and offsides, missed blocks, passes just feet from a TD, and probably the biggest mistake of the game - Brad Wing kicking a punt to Maze - TOO LONG, that Maze returned about 40 yards.

That one punt return not only was the FIRST punt return against LSU ALL SEASON, it also multiplied by a factor of 120 the average punt return yardage against LSU that season - 1 foot.

We did in the first game and we won. We didn't in the second game and you won. We made into the 20 in the first game, Alabama didn't, LSU won. Alabama made it past the 50 in the second game, LSU didn't, Alabama won.

Check me on this, but I think y'all won the NC this past season so I'm sure it's relevant.

He didn't ask if you did or not. He asked how many times you did in both games.

I don't think anyone knows because I don't think anyone thinks it matters. It could serve as another talking point for you though in continuing to push for that November win.

Are you scared of the answer?

BTW, LSU fans have posted in this thread that we made it into your red zone on 11/5 so part of your previous post is incorrect.

All I have to say is boo! He sucks! He can't give LSU any credit for beating him at his own house.

I actually am. I watched Back to the Future last night and I'm pretty frightened the outcome of last seasons November game could change if I were to find out.

I'm not surprised by these statements at all. They're a little deluded in that they assume LSU had NOTHING to do with Alabama's lack of success inside the 25-yard line. Someone should remind Coach Saban that the object of the game is to score points, not to gain yards. Someone should also point out to him that LSU gained 50 more yards rushing than his team did on 11/5. But these facts seem lost on Coach Saban.

What bothers me is that he cannot, for any reason, congratulate Les Miles or LSU. An LSU-Oklahoma State matchup in the BCSCG would have been Saban's worst nightmare. For six weeks, the entire national conversation would have been about Miles and the two programs he helped bring to prominance, instead of the conversation we had which was about the two programs Saban helmed. In order to keep that from happening, his refusal to accept losing, which rubbed off on his players prompting their assinine excuses (highlighted by Marquise Maze's "The punt hit the camera cable so I couldn't catch it"--nevermind the fact that his coach let him play while he was clearly hurt), created a dialogue that amounted to nothing more than sore loserism that caused me to lose respect for a coach and a program I had admired greatly up until last year.

I have never seen a coach nor his players work so hard to undermine the on-the-field results of conference play in any SEC sport since I have been a fan of league starting with my enrollment at LSU in 1994. Nor have I seen an SEC school blatantly diminish the importance of winning an SEC Championship as a means to promote its own self-centered glory the way Alabama did in 2011. These comments from Coach Saban only serve to drive that point home for me.

Wow. Intelligent analysis from this one. And lack of sportsmanship always pisses me off. Yes, even from our own players.
