You missed my point. You have no idea what Tennessee is like when they are firing on all cylinders. You should compare Arkansas and Tennessee up until 2005. Tennessee has far more ability to bounce back. And Tennessee has a shite ton more money than you think they do.

I know exactly what they are like. I lived through it.

Tennessee with their legendary coach had 4 BCS games in 17 years. We had 1 BCS game in 4 years. Same recruiting, same money and same geography. We could've been on pace to pass their mark you never know.

We will never know but the parameters point to Arkansas going to at least another 2 BCS games in a 13 year span just as Tennessee.

It's nice to now know the only thing Tennessee has more than us is a better tradition and a lot more debt, ha.

The SEC was always a strong conference before Arky ever joined. Threats don't mean shite. Please go back to the dysfunctional conference that you came from Please take Missouri back with you. I say let SC stay and welcome the aggies. Who are the pigs to threaten the best conference. The horns can hook ya'll in your razorbacks. Please reinvent the SWC.

Bold: Wait, what..

The conference we came from doesn't exist. The SEC is twice as strong with the additions of USC-e and Arkansas those are facts.

Remind me because I obviously forgot- Arky and USCe combined account for how many of the SEC's last six titles?

Or heck, the last infinity titles?

The SEC is the most desirable conference in the land. Slive could not very well tell Bama and Auburn what to do with itself but if things work out like people think they will then Bama and Auburn to the East is just a matter of time. Missouri was in then out and back in at the last moment. They felt they belong in the West which they do but Alabama was so butthurt by the thought of having to play UT and UF every year that they got their panties in a wad and threw a fit.

Oklahoma and Okie State come into the league then the Alabama teams will be right where they belong.

OU isn't going anywhere without Texas. They're married and need each other. I think if Texas leaves for PAC whatever, then OU goes. If Texas does BYU route, then OU makes damn sure they play in every sport.

Now that PAC12 has expanded and has a big TV deal I don't OU ever gets that invite, nor one from B1G. There were rumblings from PAC12 University reps during the previous rumor mill about academics. The B1G was not happy about NU losing their AAU status. Just an opinion but I think if UT leaves OU and OSU are hosed. Also I think UT ultimately could care less about OU. That being said I think possibly UT has suffered enough blows to the head to perhaps have figured it out, and possibly Slive has throw them another life line with Champions Bowl. Again...imo.

I think that the Big XII messed up by not inviting New Mexico. The Lobos are comparable in facilities and have natural rivals inside the Big XII. If I was Dodds, I would go independent route. With that you can make your network very effective, tie into a bowl locally to maximize your dollars, and set up a favorable schedule in all sports to make runs at NC's. The drawback would be media backlash and fan backlash around country.

Going independent is a tough row to hoe. Scheduling opponents in all sports...increased travel going around the country. I don't know, I think their best bet is to make sure B12 works, expand smart (I'm not sold on WVU invite honestly). It's a tough situation.

Texas can pull off the Indy route IMO. They're a name program, carry clout, have a tv package, and people want to play them home and homes or 2/3 for 1.

They could schedule easily all former SWC schools (aTm Ark exception) and OU. Then they can get out west with SDSU, UCLA, possibly get SC, they would get home and homes with B1G and Big East schools. I think they could be only one out there to make the move successfully now.

SEC National Titles 1992-2011: 10 (3 in first decade, and 7 in 2nd decade)
Alabama 1992
Florida 1996
Tenner 1998
LSU 2003
Florida 2006
LSU 2007
Florida 2008
Alabama 2009
Auburn 2010
Alabama 2011

SEC National Titles 1972-1991: 3 (all in the first decade)
Alabama 1978
Alabama 1979
Georgia 1980

Point is the SEC diminished greatly in the 1980's. The conference was reeling there is no doubt to that. For shite's sake Georgia Tech and Colorado split the title in 1990, those programs are horrid now. Arkansas and S. Carolina despite not directly winning titles are a big reason the conference is where it is today. The SEC was innovative and proactive, the conference came together and worked cohesively to build this monster up. Everyone now copies what we did, because it worked and worked very well.

And yet South Carolina fans are pleasant to be around and not constantly seeking acceptance and approval...

What the frick are you rambling on about in the stupid arse fricking thread? Conference expansion is about 1 thing, BIG TIME TV $$. You actually think the BIG12 would take you back? What big time TV market does Arky bring to the table?

You can post all the revenue graphs and ratings for games you want, but unless you have a major tv market, you don't have any fricking leverage. Jeff Long would be wise to keep his mouth shut.
