Uh, that will pretty much never happen. Maybe once a decade, at best. This is kind of stupid.

@McMurphyCBS: Champs of SEC & Big 12 will meet in a bowl if neither team in natl semis, sources told @CBSSports & @MrCFB
This is interesting as in.. what existing or new bowl will this be tied to? Are the conferences going to finally tell the bowls who is playing where instead of letting the bowls decide?

@DennisDoddCBS "The Sugar Bowl is the No. 1 option" for SEC/Big 12 champ bowl

Seriously.
If both teams champions are not in the semis, and neither team lost their conference opener and neither has played yet in a dome, and neither's starting QB has an L in their middle name...then they will matchup in a bowl game.

WRNL @WideRtNattyLt
Bowlsby starts his tenure with a ridiculous Big12-SEC agreement that trolls the Rose Bowl. I like this guy already.
Mark Ennis @Mengus22
This bowl announcement is almost mocking the other conferences. "If we don't make it to the…hahaha, come on, we're gonna make it."

This is Slive's trump card IMO.
Make no mistake...this is a direct attempt to split the national title if/when one of our conference teams is wrongfully left out of the playoff.
We tried to be diplomatic with the "best 4 teams" proposal, and that clearly got us nowhere. Now, he's going to force the "top 4 overall" idea before "conference champs" is ever implemented, by setting up a scenario that is likely to expose the fatal flaw early on.

kbohls ?@kbohls I'm told the meeting between the SEC and Big 12 champions would probably take place at Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
Even though this situation will likely never happen, this ^^ makes me mad. The SEC champ belongs in the Sugar Bowl if it isn't playing for a title somewhere else. F Texas, that lifeless pro-dome, and the concrete desert it sits on.

How does it mirror the Rose in Tradition now? These 2 conferences have no history of playing each other at the sugar
Edit: prob not money either, but power they got, 1/3 aint bad i guess

This isn't about the game as much as strategic alliances in college football and that is why this is a stupid move on Slive's part.
The Big12 is a heartbeat away from crumbling. No way tu can deal with sharing revenue equally for more than a year. They will go independent soon and that conference will be in ruins.
This is a bad business move, we bet on the wrong horse.

No it's not. It's probably more stable now than it has been in years.
I hate UT as much as the next guy but this is just wrong.

I wonder what Notre Dame is thinking now that the ACC just got punked.
The ACC will be the conference torn to shreds in the final realignment. No one cares about Big East football leftovers.
And the Orange Bowl is on life support in terms of prestige.
Swofford should have never double-crossed Slive on the Championship only deal ... Big 12 will now poach FSU/Clemson and SEC will have it's choice of ACC teams as well.

You are clueless.
Sips have the money and the lawyers to get out of the grant of rights and they will. You can bet your life no ACC school will join them because THEY ALL KNOW tu will leave.
