So I went to Crimson Caravan in Atlanta last night and heard Coach Saban speak. During one little segment of his speech he started talking about the NFL Draft and how he expects 5 of our players to be drafted in the 1st round. He then went on to say that, with the 4 we drafted last year, and the 5 (assuming everything comes to pass) we drafted this year, Alabama will have had 9 players go in the NFL Draft over two years. He said ESPN has interviewed him as part of a special on that because apparently that's an all-time record. No other school will have seen as many players into the 1st round over two years as Alabama in 2011 and 2012.

Wouldn't be a record. Miami had 10 drafted between the '03 and '04 drafts. They also had 9 between the '01 and '02 drafts.

How do you have 9 first rounders in two years and not win the division? Is this a coaching issue?

A much bigger selling point in recruiting than the leather helmet era national championship when Bama smoked The Dothan Welding Academy in the 1492 Soup Bowl

Not reading this Saban fap thread but to the OP, I believe Miami had 10 over a 2 year period. Could be wrong. You can look it up once you're done fapping.

Right and according to some Bama posters Alabama is the only school to win 3 Crystal Footballs since the coaches started giving that out right?

2001 Miami had 4 first rounders 2002 they had 5 Thats 9 in 2 years.

In 2003 Miami had 4 first rounders and in 2004 they had 6 that's 10. and 19 in 4 years.

So...... He's the greatest coach ever preparing players for the NFL, but he sucks balls as an NFL head coach. Got it.

Probably has nothing to do with recruiting a #1 class every year right? I'd love to see his NFL standing if he consistently had #30 recruiting classes or below.

Really? What about the Miami teams in the early 2000s? They had a ton of guys go in the first round during those years.

All that talent and he still managed to lose 4 games over those 2 years--twice to LSU, once to Auburn (after being up 24-0 at home). Les lost 3 games during that time span.
