Why is auburn stalling? We don't get commitments this time of year. Got to wait for BCW to happen. While Chizik has been here, we've never gotten a ton of early commits.

Agreed. We've piled up the average guys. Only guys who should be allowed to commit now need to be high level recruits.

Based on Scouts 'commitment date'... as of April 17th...
2011 - 1 commitment (McKinzy)
2010 - 2 commitments (O'Reilly & Swain)
2009 - 3 commitments (Kitchens, Parkey, & Holland)

Bc you are smart. AU does not overpay for kids. They wait until Nov, Dec, & Jan when all the bidding is done then they top the highest bid on the kids they want.
Economic strategy is great in recruiting.

State can't sign but 18-20 this year unless there is attrition.
Merlin's has some solid players he is on though.

So according to this list, State has 2 recruits but they are not 5,4,3,2,1, or 0 star recruits.

One is a JUCO kid who signed with us in 2011 but didn't qualify. He was a 3star out of HS.
The other commit is a 3 star 86 according to 24/7. He is an instate kid who is from a small HS.

The top guys on the LSU board are still not commited. We took the suprise guys early this year. At the end we'll be towards the top and still may be 5 in the SEC. UF,Bama,UGA(numbers) and Auburn will be highly ranked come Feb. TAM may stick around but I doubt it.
Also he trumps up UGA and their avg per commit score is horrible. Quantity over quality i guess. Not saying they have a bad class just pointing out the flaws in his argument.

I don't think we can even take a full crop of guys this year which leads me to believes we will only take "high quality" recruits.

We actually have more commitments at this point of time than ever under Chizik.... And quality wise its pretty darn good. Not sure how that is stalling

Why A&M has signed 88 three star recruits under Sherman and we have a #76 ncaa ranked scoring defense, finished out of the top twentyfive last season and looking forward unfortunatly to the same finish this year.
We will beat most unranked teams we play and lose to the ranked teams we play this season.
If Sumlin does not sign a four star ranked player at each of the 11 defensive positions this year and the next couple of years, we will be losing to the ranked teams we play for the next few years!
