Well, apparently he's been fricking her for quite some time (according to the rumors I heard on the SECr (which means they're automatically true)) so, assuming that's true, he didn't make the trade for a long damn time.
He's not going to be fired for just fricking the girl, same with Pitino. If they've been fricking for awhile then he didn't give her the job based on sexual favors.
In his interview on Tuesday, he said a lady flagged down a car. He didn't release her name, or state directly that he was with her. That saved his arse, because he didn't actually lie to the media/UofA.
The exact press conference transcript reads as, "Were you alone when you wrecked?"-reporter
Petrino responded with "I was a bit out of it, the sun was in my eyes, I lost control on the turn, a lady flagged down a car". He didn't say yes or no he was alone, but now we know days later that "lady" he referenced was Jessica Dorrell and the extent of that relationship.
I honestly doubt he is fired.

Petrino's not going anywhere.
Gonna hit him in the pocket book, going to miss a couple of early games, and that's about it.
Disclaimer: That is provided that there is not way more to Dorrel getting that job, which I don't think there is. Most likely, everything about her getting that job is defendable (I hope.)

Maybe you missed this one. "Coach, you said you were alone on the bike, right?" His response: "Yeah"

This whole deal has made me rethink my fandom. Last night I caught myself saying, "God I hope he doesn't get fired", but I really don't see how he doesn't. As bad as I hate to say this, he deserves it if the story is true and he was stupid enough to try and lie. I've never defended CBP as the guy I want to know personally or have him coaching my kids, but he has given us immediate relevance in the SEC West and would probably win the SEC and maybe more if he stayed another 3 or 4 years, but damn at some point you gotta say "Is it worth it?" I'll be a Hog fan till I die, but this moral dilemma is something I never thought I would have to live out, just from rooting for a football team.

No, didn't miss that one.
It was just after he had already said a lady flagged down a car. So obviously that lady would have had to been with him.

That's the part of the Press Conference Sportscenter played, sorry for using what they used

It's exactly what it is, a moral dilemma. Do you root for an obvious scumbag to keep your favorite team relevant, or do you hope he gets what you or I would get if we put ourselves in the same situation. I'm sure you had the same problem last year with JJ, am I right?

I really don't give a flying frick what the football coach does off the Football field.
Not a moral dilemma for me, if he didn't give the girl a job for sex, he won't be fired, and Go Hogs Go!
Then again, I'm still a Tiger Woods fan too.
I just don't care what these people do outside of the sport itself.

They asked him if he was the only person involved in the accident. You are leaving out aspects to make it look better than actually is.

This (what I said) seems to be what is coming out of the smokestack at the moment. There are provisions in his contract (I understand) for this kind of punishment as opposed to termination. But it all depends (I believe) on what Long digs up regarding the Dorrell employment deal.
Jeff won't fire him for having an affair, Jeff won't fire him for not telling him the whole story sooner (although he is rightfully mightily pissed), Jeff doesn't really WANT to fire him and will only do so if his hand is forced by some legal issue that I really don't think exists or if pressure from higher up is too great.

Again, I used the part of the Press Conference they just used on Sportscenter.
Take it up with them, not me.
The reporter asked if he was alone, he described the wreck and said a lady flagged down a car.
Whether or not they asked him again later on and got a different answer I don't know, just saying the part that was on Sportscenter.

People cheer for their teams in the NFL with scumbags coaching them.
I think if we could get a coach as good as Petrino, then we should cut ties with him. But, if not, I want to keep him.
