I know this may come off as pilling on but was the "Honey Weasel" exposed last night? I think he is an adequate college player but as a cover corner he is lacking. He is too small. He had his back to the ball to often and was picked on by BAMA's number 2 guy Hanks and a reciver who had 7 catches for the year. He had trouble tackling and was easily blocked throughout the night. And not by NFL level players. In reality TM7 recieved alot of hype throughout the year for making plays that are unrelated to his main job of pass coverage. If I see that play against KY one more time I'm going to puke. TM7 benifitted by being the unblocked man on certain blitzes to cause fumbles. It wasnt like he was beating a player off his block to get to the ball. When he blitzed last night TR had no problem discarding him. If your corner is more known for forced fumbles than int's or pass break ups shouldnt that tell you something? Yeah he is a good returner on punts but as a corner he is a nickle guy at best. In reality can you honestly see this guy line up against 6'2" 220 lb NFL WR's like Andre Johnson and be effective? TM is a colorful personality who is fun to watch play but in the end he is what he is. 5 foot beg for more, buck seventy five soaking wet.

I think he just had a bad game. He was in good position on a bunch of plays that he got beat on, but he just didn't make the play/great play by bama receiver. Exposed would be a bit of a strong word to use there because he wasn't the only one that got beat in coverage, and it was only one game.

He definitely doesn't like to tackle and he's scared of contact...

to a certain degree he was...he got picked on a little by AJ. He is a nickle back in a normal defense. To small too cover a #1 or #2 WR

IMHO he plays corner, better as a nickel, and made the AA team as a corner but I feel he will translate into a FS at the next level.

Now why would anyone think you are "pilling" on? Piling on is whole different story though.

He got beaten by good throws and catches last night. What impressed me about him is that he came up and made big plays against the run several times last night. He's a great player.

Perfect passes. On two of them no defense could have stopped them.

I saw HB7 get beat a few times, but I also saw him make quite a few key pass deflections and tackles as well.

That said he is indeed a better nickle back than a cover guy.

We know he isn't a great cover corner. He just makes plays when he gets the opportunity. He got stuck one on one last night with bigger receivers and got beat. You're right though, he is a bit too small. I could see putting him a role like Bob Sanders had with the Colts. Bulk him up a little bit and let him harass the running game.

He is an average cover corner. He plays the run well and usually tackles well, but he was targeted by Bama in both games and I think he is the weak link for LSU in pass coverage. He is a very good return guy. He was incredibly overhyped because of a couple of early season scope and score, one being against, ahum, Kentucky.
