Funny
Congrats to the GameChickens but come on.
Winning 11 games this year is a great feat for the university but they are not elite.
Elite means multiple SEC and at least 1 national title.
Plus they never go out of conference against someone good. NC State, North Carolina, East Carolina.
Last year they lost to Florida State and the year or two before they lost to UConn in the Papa Johns bowl.
Now I get to hear about how great they will be next year.
Please Georgia, beat those chickens

What would they think if they had Georgia's schedule, this year, or next???

All the "elite" schools had a point where they just got there, some more recent than others, right LSU fans?
But for the record, USCe is now, "pretty good" not "elite."

They are very excited and proud and they should be. If they continue on this pace they will = Arky fans though.
They minimize how far down the East is currently. If UT and UF weren't down the road would be that much harder. Sadly, both teams are way down. I would be willing to call them elite myself if they were beating UT,UF,UG, etc. when they aren't having rebuilding years.
I'm actually happy for Spurrier I just hope their fans don't go full Piggie.

Poor South Carolina and Arkansas have no chance to ever join the elite, or even the "big 6" of the SEC like Tennessee and Georgia.....

If there is one fan base that deserves to have some fun and walk with a strut right now it is USCe. Those guys packed an 80,000 seat stadium year after year of Vandy type seasons and they deserve their fun these last few years without a bunch of Bama and LSU fans piling on about how they will never be us. They know that already so let them have their fun.

Most of us don't really care if you call yourselves "elite". I'm fine with it. Use elite all day.

I see us as maintaining strong status. Elite? No way. That's just homer thinking.
Do we think we have a chance to become elite? Of course. But it'll take time and more importantly championships.

Sure they do. First step would be to win one SEC championship.

Btw a few fans saying we are elite shouldn't be used to judge a fan base. Most people in that thread alone called him out and said we aren't elite yet.

So we are elite?

Do I think we're elite? Nah, but we are taking all the proper steps required to get to such a status.
And just to pour some gas on the fire here this just came across my facebook feed..
Enjoy.
When did this become a requirement? UF never did this and they were as Elite as it gets outside of the last couple of years. Less not forget the Gamecock domination over the ACC's best just a month ago.

Enjoy.

Finebaum does not believe that and is such a shiite stirrer.
I'm OK with you guys replacing UT FWIW.

Oh I'm aware but now that SC can be used as a saber rattler and get everyone all agitated should speak volumes about where we're headed.

Finebaum is a fricking joke if he thinks SC's program is ahead of Georgia's. Did they have a better season this YEAR? Yep, they did. They also had a better season that Florida, but they haven't passed them by.
To "pass" a program you need to sustain a consistent level of more success. More wins, more head to head victories, major bowl wins, and obviously division and conference titles. SC has won the east exactly once (while Richt just won it for the 4th time) and has what, like 1 SEC title if that? Winning 11 games (in a year we won 10) in no way makes SC a superior program. What a joke.

See FSU in the 90s and early 00s. Sadly they were better than us many of those years.

Dude, its cockytalk. None of the Carolina posters on this site set foot on cockytalk. Bank on that. We are NOT elite. We had a good year, but I agree with your criteria of being "elite." Takes more than one good season to be in that category, although I think we are taking the proper steps to maintaining good status.

Exactly. I've always respected the support their fans show. I would say USCe has elite fans.
