Last 5 years records for each team.

LSU
2011 13-0
2010 11-2
2009 9-4
2008 8-5
2007 12-2 NC
53-13

ALA
2011 11-1
2010 10-3
2009 14-0 NC
2008 12-2
2007 7-6
54-12

Instead of Gumps v Corndogs engaging in an endless dick measuring contest, can't we just appreciate two of the finest programs in college football history.
I for one appreciate that CNS has restored Alabama football to its rightful place. Truth is, CNS also restored LSU football to its rightful place, and CLM has not only kept it there but has taken it to further heights.
These teams are playing for their fourth crystal football in the last nine years. These fine coaches have brought each program to the pinnacle of college football. Let both teams relish this moment, and may the best team win on Jan 9th. Roll Tide! Geaux Tigers!

Looks like I'm gonna have to be the one to start this. Where has the SECr gone?

Didn't realize recorded history started when Nick Saban moved to Baton Rouge.

It's rightful place is under the NCAA banhammer.

CNS also restored LSU football to its rightful place

He BUILT LSU football, there was nothing to "restore"

And :9to6: just to be safe.

I noticed that math is not your strong suit, but you are consistent.

You mistated the number of wins by BOTH teams by 1.

FYI.

I totally agree with you. Both of us have the best thing going in college football and probably will for the next few years. Let's all enjoy these days and be thankful that we are not talking Ohio Stae/USC/Texas, etc. playing for all the marbles. Great coaches, great players, great fans....... what could be better!

Alabama is 2-6 for that year.

Alabama is 49-12 in the last 5 years.

Why didn't you go back the past 12 years, since 2000. Then you would see that LSU has smoked the rest of SEC In overall record. LSU as an 8 game lead on UF which is second. Bama is stuck around 5th or 6th.

A sad day when Alabama fans start settling for a draw.

I think it is abundantly clear that both are elite program. Any game between the two is a tossup and it continue to be this way for some time to come.
