Ala lost to lsu in ala in 1 ot bama did not out play lsu they were forced to kick 2 long out of reach fg by lsu def... lsu blocked one and ala missed maybe one they should have hit trent was held to 90 yards and lsu fgs could have very well been td thats how close lsu was to the goal while in my heart I think ala is #2..they did not win the west so they did not win sec.....ok st won the big 12 champ...only lost to a good 6-6 iowa st team in 2ot at a tragic time for okst.....okst has beaten more ranked teams than ala...it would be great for the sec but okst deserves it!!!

what if Bama this year was Florida
LSU beats florida by 3 in OT at UF
*UF still considered the second best team
LSU beats floriday be 3 in OT in the SECCG
*UF still considered the second best team since they only lost to the best team (LSU and UF still considered the 2 best teams)
Should LSU and UF play a 3rd time for the BCSNCG?

If rematches in the BCS title game are just fine, then why did we play on Nov 5? Both teams shouldve just taken the day off, since both were already ranked top 2.

then why bother having the SEC Championship if it is a rematch of a regular season game? We all know the real answer is to squeeze every last dollar the SEC can out of TV and fan bases but it seems rather amusing by those opposed to a rematch to say the 2nd best team in the country shouldn't play in the BCS because they lost to the #1 team during the season and are from the same conference so therefore Bama shouldn't get a shot at the BCS. It may seem unfair to LSU since they already beat Bama but if Alabama is really the 2nd best team in the country then how is it fair to Bama to deny them a ticket to the game?
Since 1999 5 SEC Championship games have been a rematch of a regular season game. In all 5 rematches the team that won in the regular season won again in the rematch. Still the winning team had to go out and win again against the team they had already beaten in order to secure an SEC championship.
Personally I believe it really doesn't matter who LSU plays. I don't see anyone beating them. They could play OSU and Bama back to back in the same night and beat both of them. LSU is that good and the scary thing is they are a young team. Wouldn't be surprised to see back to back to back BCS titles for the tigers.
The SEC champ game is designed to determine a champion from the conference because not eveyone can play each other, so we have division winners...then they advance, right?
some years two team play each other twice.... I would have no problem facing Alabama again if they were in the East...A possible rematch would be a reality before the first snap of each season...but for the National Championship? Wut? that's whack!
After the SECCG these team go to different bowls!
What part of this is so difficult for Bama fans to understand?
This is a complete mess

If Okie St was undefeated you would be correct. I would still know deep down that Alabama was better than Okie St, and absolute thrashing of okie st in the NCG by LSu would prove it, but they would have deserved it for going undefeated. However, since Okie St lost to a terrible 6 and 6 team trying to pretend they deserve it is really saying hey im scared of playing a real team. At least if you were making a case for Stanford your motives wouldnt be so transparent.

No one is scared. Stanford didn't win their conference you moran!

Stanford? Wut?
At least make good points
Oregon thrashed Stanford at home
OSU are conference champs Big difference!!!!!
You bama fans need to start putting together good arguments
The problem here, is that you have the media passing you along as #2 by the "eye ball test"
Which is criminal to the rest of the nation

The "eyeball" test is the best way to pick a champ.

then why bother having the SEC Championship if it is a rematch of a regular season game?
The BCS IS NOT a playoff structure. The ONLY goal of the BCS (as it pertains to the MNC) is to increase the LIKLYHOOD that the MNC would be determined on the field of play. This is why a rematch makes ABSOLUTELY ZERO sense within the BCS structure.

Compare losses instead of wins.

If the regular season is supposedly meaningful in terms of getting to the BCS, then why did Nov 5 not matter?

Beg for the easy win cuz you are scared of a rematch.

I'm perfectly okay with making Bama fans' lives miserable after we beat you again.

nice try.... but no cigar. See LSU won every game they played therefore they do not have to beg for anything. I know it seems unfair to Bama, but thems be the rules.

Do you really want to start talking about quality wins? Bama had a pretty weak arse schedule. 3 teams with winning records?

I agree...my eyeballs think that Bama is a big smelly #2

No okst lost to a good 6-6 team in 2ot at a tragic time in moreiowa st....your grabbing at straws if u think lsu is scared or even cares if its ala again...if it happens its ala...more than likely they're gonna get the shock of their " @#$%" lives and the score's not gonna be 9-3 so might better for ala to play in another bcs bowl so they have a chance to be at least #2.....bring on the @#$% tide....but u don't deserve it ok st does
