With the 2008 cotton bowl, us taking wingo, mike anderson, and possibly DGB, and now them coming to the SEC there is a lot of animosity between the two fanbases IMO...there is potential for one

I'm sure the ones who didn't like Mike Anderson leaving for Arkansas will hate them but personally I don't really think much about them. Maybe there will be a good rivalry develop in basketball but we will have to wait and see on that..
No worries. But to echo what was said above, it has the potential to be a nasty rivalry. Lots of MU grads live in North Arkansas and lots of AR grads live in South Missouri. Not a lot of love between the two sides without us even playing. I imagine it would escalate quickly if we did play regularly.
I doubt many from KC or St. Louis would view it with much hatred early on but I suppose maybe after a while if they played regularly it could build into a nasty rivalry.

Yeah I'm speaking mainly for people on the border. I doubt people in the middle to southern parts of Arkansas would ever consider Mizzou a rival either.

i love knowing arkansas makes you this pissed off.

I do not see where a Missouri entrance into the conference benefits Arkansas in any manner.

Has it been confirmed that Ark-Mizzou will not play each other next season?

There is a large number of Missouri basketball fans that are angry about Mike Anderson leaving for Arkansas and they most likely will look at you guys as a rival so who knows.. I know for a fact some Missouri fans can get on your last nerve so it might happen over that, but I was one of the ones who wasn't a big fan of Anderson's style of play or recruiting so his leaving didn't bother me near as much as the hiring of Frank Haith did. . But living in KC all my life I just never really thought much about Arkansas or even south Missouri. It's funny because IOWA is close also and we've rarely played them either..

Arkansas has done a lot more recruiting in Missouri lately than it has in years past. Admittedly, some of them have been misses, but the ability of Arkansas to get some of the best talent in Missouri lately is not going to be diminished by increasing the program's exposure to Missouri recruits.

if so, it would be very lopsided as far as wins/losses. would be similar to Tulane/LSU

I think Mizzou fans issues about Anderson leaving isn't with Arkansas but Anderson & the way he left (flat-out lies to the fans, admin & most importantly, to the players). However, the difference in the same guys & they way they were playing the last two months of last season vs. now is night & day. Curious to see the contrast between just rolling the ball out vs. actually coaching'em up. Like many Mizzou fans, I was stunned when Haith was hired--now it looks like we owe Anderson & Arky a huge thank you. We look freaking awesome thus far.

We have more of a basketball history with them if anything. There were some good games againt them back in the day. Nothing really lately though.

BTW I'm not even under 61, the good years are the norm for LSU, the 90's were an aberration.
Interesting.
From 1960-1999 LSU had 12 seasons of .500 ball or less. Arkansas only had 10.
LSU had 4 conference titles 1960-1999
Arkansas had 9 conference titles and 1 division title.
LSU finished ranked 19 times and Arkansas finished ranked 22 times.

Not in football and probably never will.
Basketball, is a different story.
Arkansas leads the series 19-18-0. The best team Missouri has had in their history, that earned a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney and went to the Elite Eight(the farthest a Mizzou team has ever gone)got absolutely blown the hell out by Arkansas, 120-68.
