We're talking about a trip that's less than 100 miles. And it's a conference road game, so only 65-70 players actually make the travel roster.

Well if the team, coaches, and cheerleaders all used the same buses as the band they could save a lot of money if they wanted.

Less than I thought it would be.

Might be cheaper for the teams to look in to buying a house in Starkville instead.

The cheerleaders get a MUCH nicer bus, apparently

Alabama will use the buses to travel from Tuscaloosa to Tupelo, where the hotel is at, then down to Starkville for a walk-thru. Then back to Tupelo on Friday night, but heading back down to Starkville once again for the game. I would assume that fuel costs and driver rental adds up.

Would beat having to stay in Tupelo or Columbus.

Over how many people? 70 players & all of staff and cheering squad?

The article doesn't state. I'm guessing upwards of 110 people. Players, coaching staff, support staff, etc. It also doesn't state who is catering.

Yep. They usually use the same bus line the team does.

This, the least expensive of Alabama's road trips this season, comes in at a total cost of just over $44,000 for the travel party of 174, according to figures provided to The Tuscaloosa News by UA.
