quote:

USC — along with all other SEC schools — will play nine conference football games each year due to Missouri joining the Southeastern Conference, President Harris Pastides said Sunday.

SEC will probably get more $$$$ from a new TV deal that will offset the loss. Not to mention should have more bowl eligiable teams to bring in more $$$$.

marley,

Not only will it mean more SEC game inventory for CBS/ESPN, but the soon-to-be SEC Network will have more games to offer, making it a better business venture.

Not necessarily, just the thought of a 9 game conference schedule is grueling as hell though.

If that means one less joke out of conference school coming to town each year, then hell yeah

except that adding a conference game ensures that 6 teams are guaranteed an additional loss, where they may have gotten and easy win..

If we are doing 9 conference games a year, does this mean both the Alabama/Tennessee and the Iron Bowl rivalries could have been preserved even with Auburn going to the East? Hmmmm, guess there was another reason certain teams didn't want Auburn in the East.....
