Of all the weird things we do to make fun of, I don't get the hate for Midnight Yell. It is often ranked among the best traditions in college football, and whenever a new opponent comes to Kyle Field, opposing fans go out of their way to be at Kyle at midnight and they are usually blown away.

Blown away by the gayness of it all, and the fact that 50,000 college students dont have anything better to do on a friday night than file into a giant tackle box and sway arm in arm with a bunch of male cheerleaders

This is the SEC. Most fans of each particular school never set foot in a classroom, there.

You think Army or Navy would accept a bunch of male cheerleaders playing GI Joe?

This is why they are in College Station spending their Friday nights grabbing and clutching the male next to them while "yelling"...

Yells are usually more involved from a timing standpoint, and the yell leaders are basically there to keep the student section (which is HUGE at A&M) synchronized.

Here is what I don't understand… in front of a enormous student section there is no way all those students pay attention to the yell leaders to synchronize the yells.. hell at an MSU game you don't hardly notice the cheerleaders or anything because you have to focus hard to see what they are doing.

Just do it in unison, learn the yells, and when it is started everyone just goes in unison. Arkansas does it just fine with "calling the hogs" Tennessee with "rocky top" Alabama with Rammer Jammer and all other schools fight songs or unique yells. None of us have yell leaders and we all do it just fine in unison.

It's a dumb tradition, just get some women cheerleaders to look at, have the guys that pick them up and shite, and ignore them like every other school does.

I find it ironic that a conference that prides itself on its passion would then ridicule that passion

Passion in the SEC is defined as Male on Female instead of the Aggies preference of Male on Male.

You should be use to this ridicule for your lifestyle choice.

That is LSU, your rivalry is based on this common interest with one another.

Exactly. That's why before every yell, the Yell Leaders initiate what's called the "pass back." They start a hand signal that the students in the front rows pass on to those behind them who can't see/weren't looking at a Yell Leader to let them know which yell is coming next. Sounds corny, but it's actually a pretty effective way to keep all 25K-30K students in step. Not to mention if you're on the other side of the field, watching the pass back make its way up all 3 decks of students is cool to watch.

In the library...for shame.
what's that?

Auburn's library is just as bad?

I would bet most college campuses can be found to have some gayness with a quick google search

I'm sure there's somebody, somewhere out there that went to A&M and thinks "squeeze" is a tradition, but it's not. Never even heard of it till I started frequenting message boards, and not once in my four years did I see and Corps folks or people on campus do that. Ask the most A&M students what "squeeze" is and you'll probably just get a blank stare.

what's corny is trying to get 25,000 students in step in the first place
