Heard a guy that has a talk show here in Lafayette, LA yesterday say that an undergrad can come out for the NFL three years after he graduates from HS. I thought he had to wait four years until his class would have a normal time to graduate from college. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Thanks!

He is correct. 3 years removed from high school. Just like a College player leaving after their junior year.

So if a player is redshirted his actual freshman year, he can come out after his freshsman and sophomore year of playing?

So you are saying if a player does not qualify, enrolls a year after high school then redshirts, he can leave after his redshirt freshman year

As long as they are 3 years removed from high school they can enter the draft. They can redshirt any year, it doesn't have to be freshman year, although it usually is.

Baseball has the rule that if you are 21 within a certain date of the draft you are eligible after your so year.
Kevin Gausman is draft eligible after his so year but I'm not sure why football doesn't have a similar rule.

So all this time you thought only redshirt juniors were entering the draft?

What if a kid is soooo bad azz he decides to skip college and just play Rec. League (2 hand touch) for 3 years?

If you remember Clarette (SP?) sued to try and change this rule unsuccessfully.
