It's clear the offense runs more smoothly with McCarron, but Saban is scared Sims will transfer if he doesn't feel he has a shot at starting over AJ.

I'm a little surprised Saban is being a puss about this. Just start AJ and if Sims decides to transfer at the end of the season - adios.

Run for the hills before the "homers" see this.

Where do you get this from?

I think it's clearly AJ's job. Knowing today was automatic, perhaps he's just keeping the heat on him. Next week's snaps will tell all IMO.

Dont really think that's it. Probably trying to see how they both preform under the lights. Also, may be trying to light a fire (keep it lit?) under AJ.

If Sims stinks it up against Kent State, there's no way in hell he'll play a down in Happy Valley as long as McCarron stays healthy (and Penn State manages to keep it close of course).

So Saban would jeopardize this year because he doesn't want a player to leave that might pan out in the future if he doesn't recruit a better one. the logic on your side isn't really good.

Saban has shifty eyes and the best advice I have ever received was to never trust a man with shifty eyes.

Once again, you prove you are a fricking idiot. AJ is going to win the starting job. Sims might get a 1/3 of the snaps against Penn State if that. According to the coaches Sims did enough to earn his shot against a cupcake. He got his shot and he didn't do well. AJ did. AJ is the starter.

How is that Saban being a pussy? The QB race was wide open this year. Neither QB really separated themselves in the preseason. Give them both a shot and let them sort it out. Now, no one on the team will dispute the coaches' decision and there will be no internal strife ala Watts/Zow.

I just don't think a #1 QB recruit will sit on the bench for 3 seasons and - barring an injury to AJ - wait patiently.

There will be plenty of folks in Sims' ear about it too...that there is opportunity to play elsewhere. Plus Sims didn't necessarily grow up a Bama fan.

There hasnt been anything said about it. It could be a possibility though. If McCarron gets the start, he would keep it for a few years and it would knock Sims out of the job.

You my friend at some point went with out oxgen. It was Kent state,or in other words practice. That is the last time Simms will get to share the snaps. And yes, I am homer.

Also this is the first season for either guy. No problem in getting them both some reps.

Your brain is dumb as a pussy.

Your logic is flawed.

Why are you so scared Sims will transfer if he can't win the starting job?

What if we recruit a great QB this year?

I'm not scared Sims would transfer...I would almost welcome it.

Bama has a pretty good looking QB recruit for the 2011 class.

Saban just ended a QB controversy before it ever had a chance to get started. If that somehow makes him a pussy then so be it.
