Question for Bama fans regarding recruiting

Why is it you guys are so high in the new recruiting site 24/7? Most SEC schools don't even have a site on there yet, and continue to rely on Rivals and Scout.
Every Bama fan I see on here swears by 24/7. What's up with all the hype? Is the founder a former Bama recruiting guy from another site? When do they think they will be on par with rivals and scout in terms of team sites?

I think it might be because of the staff

I actually agree with Dan Mullens when he said that recruiting services are overrated.

Aren't the articles all based on recruiting???

Because the Rivals guys that were giving recruits the "Bama bump" went to 24/7. Now 24/7 has Bama with a great class, while Rivals does not.

Didn't one of the better / most popular sites change from Rivals or scout to 24/7?
The big site just changed affiliations. But, the following stayed the same. the "insiders" stayed the same. etc.

24/7 has the worst message boards on the web by a mile. I absolutely hate the layout of their message boards.

I wonder why LSU doesn't have a 24/7 site?

The Bama Rivals site that most people have been following for years moved to 247. A lot of Bama fans think that Rivals is now ranking Bama recruits lower because the influential Bama staff at BOL is gone to 247 and the other site staff are trying to overly-correct the perceived notion that there was a Bama bump. I'm not sure if that is the case or not. I still use Rivals, but I can guarantee you that any influence BOL used to have on Rivals to "bump" Bama recruits is now gone. Rivals lost a ton of money when BOL left and they are not happy. BOL moving to 247 gave it a lot of credibility and Rivals now has a legitimate competitor in the recruiting market.

I still follow it, but refuse to look at rankings

It will, eventually.
But (as it pertains to LSU),
Rivals is the oldest, best known
Scout has the most respected administration (as far as I can tell from posts / friends)
Tigerdroppings serves a HUGE role...thus, little room left for another site.

247 is putting rivals out of business

They only have about 20 affiliated schools and only 6 SEC schools. Rivals and Scout have every school in D1

Today. But 247 is growing at a crazy pace, and its so much better then any of the other sites.

Recruiting was fun for about the first couple years when Saban came here because we were so used to Shula ball. Now it is just like "meh...another 4 star....maybe he will play as a junior."
As for people who think the "bama bump" truly existed, maybe there was some influence from BOL staff on rankings, but I don't think anyone can dispute that the classes Bama has pulled in since Saban has gotten here have been tremendously talented given our record and draft picks since those players started arriving. Saban has always been known as the best recruiter in the nation along with Pete Carroll until he left.

I think most of the pay sites will be out of business within 10 years. There is recruiting information/mis-information over kill and people are already starting to become annoyed with the silliness and investing time and energy in a situation they can not (or should not) control or influence. Also, people have to feel a bit embarrassed when they realize they are so invested in the decision of a 17-19 year old stranger.

Maybe better for Alabama fans who have the most subscribers there, but what about for Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State fans who don't have a 24/7 site?
