Question for Bammers, regarding Julio

How durable is this kid?
I usually have this concern about large WR's.
Their size works against them in alot of next level collisions. I'd like to see him succeed, but I don't know how well he was physically tested in his career at Bama.
I know, I know. . .it's the SEC. . .
I just never saw him take many big hits. He will get many on the next level.
So, do you guys expect him to hold up? Is it a big unknown? Have you guys seen something I have not?

Has had a ton of injuries throughout his career. But he's tough and has played through them. I think he'll be fine for a while just because of his toughness. But he'll get worn down faster than most IMO

but he plays through broken feet so i mean the dudes a bad arse with the injuries

He's gotten banged up a few times the past 2 years, but he's played through most of them.
Broken wrist in '09 and a broken hand this past season, played with both...

I think his size will work well for him in the league, especially in the redzone.

I wouldn't say a ton, he's had around 4 minor injuries in 3 years, all breaks and bruises that are common in football.
He hasn't had any ligament damage, which is way more crucial then a wrist or deep knee bruise...

I exaggerated. It just seemed like he was constantly banged up. But you're right, it's good that none have been serious injuries

Don't look too far into it, if they were very serious, he wouldn't have been out there.
So many NFL players have similar hand injuries that are not publicized mainly because they aren't important.
They are more tolerance testing injuries than career damaging ones...

shite, if I was the NFL team drafting Julio, I'd take a ball peen hammer to his hands in the preseason and maybe again halfway through the season. I don't know if the pain made him more aware of his hands, but the guy seemed to flat-out played better after he broke his hands.

Don't throw him easy passes. Make him work for it, he snags all of the crazy shite.

He's played through most of his injuries. The knee injury really seemed to hamper him, though.

i think he's a tough kid and he could be great but he seems to get hurt alot

NFL dbs are about to find out. Those high end wide receivers like to take plays off if they're not getting the ball. Julio doesn't.

Honestly, I don't think he is that durable, but it has nothing to do with his toughness. The guy played throughout many an injury at Bama. The performance he put on in the second half of last season with a broken hand was pretty dang imppressive.
I don't think he is durable because of the way he plays. He never shys away from contact. I remember UT receivers in the late 90's with Peyton used to drive me crazy because they would basically lay down or slide to avoid contact. That's not Julio.
He invites contact and is a big target at that. That adds up to not being very durable in the NFL.

Maybe some do, but more don't. Hines Ward, Andre Johnson, and Brandon Marshall are all good run blockers

Julio is the most physical receiver I've ever seen. He's also had a lot of minor injuries like broken hands, feet, wrists. He might have had a bruised knee once also.
I don't think he ever missed a game. Seemed like he was always having multiple surgeries in the offseason.

It goes without saying that Julio was the best blocking wr in the SEC. He'll be the same in the NFL.
