People said the same thing last year.

ESPN had him as the leading candidate at both Florida and Miami. Others had him heading to Colorado. Dan and his wife Megan love living in Starkville and like the small college town atmosphere for raising their young son.

There are only a handful of schools that I could see Mullen leaving for.

Mississippi State is expected to announce a “significant gift” for a new football complex at a press conference tomorrow, signifying what might also be the revealing of a potential start date for construction on the facility.

A press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

The new football complex will be adjacent to the football practice fields on the MSU campus. The football-specific facility, which will house offices and more, was expected to carry an estimated price tag between $20 million and $25 million, athletic director Scott Stricklin said in March. The costs would also include upgrades to MSU’s outdoor practice fields. MSU is expected to fund the football facility through the Bulldog Club, the private fundraising arm of the athletic department.

As long as the building is in starkville then not a single frick will be given about it.

I think the posters on here are the only people who even care about beating teams in the West other than Ole Miss.

I will say this much, as long as Mullen wins 7+ games a year and beats Ole Miss every year our fans will love him and pay him good money.

As long as he does this there will never be the big pressure on him that other head coaches have at other schools.

But it was only his second year. I give him 4 tops or if a few programs open up maybe next year. I did not see him going to UF or the U

I think that Coach Mullen, our staff, and our players will give a frick about a $25 million gift that is going to upgrade our football facilities.

I also think that it will help with recruiting as well.

you realize that it won't even put you in the top half of the conference football facility wise right? we're going to spend that much on the indoor basketball facility...all good football facilities are going to run over 30million.

At some point he will have to beat a division team other than Miss. to reach the 7+ game mountain top at Ms. State. The east isn't going to be down forever.

Ms. State can continue to schedule the C-USA cream puffs, beating them most of the time to become bowl eligible as long as Kentucky is their permanent east team on the schedule and Ole Miss is allowed to stay in the SEC...

Maybe so, but we have a given win every year with Kentucky. The WEST won't always be as good as last year and as expected as this year. Heck Auburn is going to be down this year IMO.
