I think Frank is a huge stretch, but that list is hilarious.
Ignoring the first two candidates, which are ridiculous, Grant would have me the least enthusiastic for sure.

LMAO, Bama isn't the second best job after KY.
I agree. I wouldn't go THAT far. I think Arkansas and Florida are CLEARLY better jobs. UK is obvious. I WOULD, however, stack the Alabama job against any other SEC program though as being AT LEAST as good as the rest of them.

Yes, hilarious.
Who would consider a program that has 6 Final Fours better than a program that has 6 Sweet 16's
fricking delusion I tell ya'

Go frick yourself while learning to read. I said, "AS GOOD AS". I didn't say we were second best. We do have the second best history though. You could argue that Arkanasas is a better job than Bama, but not by much.
UK is obviously a better job than Bama, but any other SEC team that you say is better, is debatable.

Memphis I don't think you understand just how great the Arkansas job is. Maybe you should just look through Hawgeye's post history and then you'll understand.
Vandy does have some recruiting restrictions. Stallings has done a good job but I don't think I'd list in the top two tiers. IMO The best jobs, in no particular order (because I don't want to offend the Arkansas fans) are Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU.

It's one thing to debate about the Alabama job, but UT fans are nuts if they think their job is better than the Arkansas job.
As for Memphis helping Tennessee, Memphis is actually closer to Tuscaloosa than Knoxville.

That's exactly how I would rate them too.

With Mike Anderson back, Arkansas is going to be all over Memphis again.

Really? Does Alabama's history compare to Arky's in basketball? If so, I would have been badly mistaken
I think the other poster was right when he said (ranking SEC jobs):
1) KY
2) Fla/Arky
4) UT IMO (presently they are #2 for money generated I think... but I downgraded them because of the NCAA's interest and possible sanctions)
5) dunno... see arguments for UGA, LSU, Bama... several football schools where basketball will be a distant second at best

So what exactly makes Tennessee a better job than Arkansas since that is what has you all riled up?
Money? nope
Facilities? nope
History? nope
Last years recrod? ok you got me there but you said history doesn't count so we can throw that one out too
Recruiting? nope
I just can't figure it out so you tell us what makes Tennessee's job so great?

Georgia has a ton of potential as a basketball school. Talk about sitting on a gold mine recruiting wise, there are tons of good prospects that come out of that state every year.
I still don't think instate recruiting matters as much in basketball but it certainly doesn't hurt to have all that talent in your backyard.

I know a lot of teams have more history, but Pearl did a lot for our fan base. As of 2007:
And Mike Griffith's list is absolutely comical. Tennessee is not a better job than Arkansas, but better than Alabama.
quote:
1. Kentucky Wildcats - 23,125 - #1 in the nation!!
2. Tennessee Volunteers - 19,268 - # 5 in the nation in 2006
3. Arkansas Razorbacks - 16,150 -- #12 in the nation
4. South Carolina Gamecocks - 12,870
5. Florida Gators - 11,614
6. Alabama Crimson Tide - 11,348
7. Vanderbilt Commodores - 11,223 -- was #24 in the nation in 2006
8. LSU Tigers - 9,706
9. Mississippi State Bulldogs - 9,032
10. Georgia Bulldogs - 6,778
11. Auburn Tigers - 4,680
12. Ole Miss Rebels - 4,125
And Mike Griffith's list is absolutely comical. Tennessee is not a better job than Arkansas, but better than Alabama.

Yet historically they've done FAR FAR less than LSU/Bama/UT. Heck, Bama has had a lot of success recently recruiting basketball players in Georgia. I do think UGA will be tough with Fox as the head coach though. Arkansas is about to be really good if MA ends up there. Alabama will fall rapidly off because "Grant is absolutely miserable in Tuscaloosa" according to the UT boards and has been begging for a UT interview.

Look, I'll give you Arky. They're "new" to the SEC but do have a good history in basketball.
My point is, UT is not an obviously better job than Bama. After UK, and I guess Arky, the next level is highly debatable, and Bama has as much argument as any other team.
I'm talking about history, fan support, money, recruiting base, etc.

He must hate Tuscaloosa a lot to say he considers himself a Tuscaloosan. Self loathing coach we got here.
