Takes a shot at Thayer Evans.

quote:

There have some questions lately about events of the recent year. I would like to clarify what facts I am aware of. Sometimes media members take information and try to paint a picture which may or may not be accurate. They only provide the information they want the reader to see. The points I believe were most crucial are below.

SbB is low rent, mickey mouse journalism. The guy is just a scavenger hoping to break the "next big story" and maybe get some attention.

Makes a comment about the GR cell. . .

From all I have heard from my family back home, most of the investigation is aimed at cracking down on street agents.

AU is likely not a target, but Nelson most certainly is.

I would not be surprised to see Nelson's name on a "do not contact" list very soon.

During the recent NCAA questioning the most relevant question asked to me was “Do I think Auburn had done anything illegal in recruiting the two players from Thibodaux High.” A Thibodaux High administrator was present and will verify that my answer was, “I am not aware of anything illegal during their recruitment process.”

I guess that kills the "AU is not being investigated" stance.

I'm still a little fuzzy on all he did.

He shuffled these kids to Auburn for unofficial visits for no cost to the kid?

Well we all know that SBB and Thayer have an agenda, and will twist anything to meet that agenda. They're shock journalists, grade A hacks.

However, I am glad that Lorio is making these comments because his vague commentary a month ago was a little frightening.

Don't think people are denying it, if they are, they are Delusional. Thayer crappy journalism in piecing together stuff and it seems like he is putting words in peoples mouths. I wonder if he recorded the statements to cover his arse or if they disappeared.

Those two statements are a little different. His is a little more direct then to the best he can recall. That insinuates that he might of forgot. He says not aware of anything.

He is dogged in his pursuit. Sometimes, effort is rewarded...even to the undeserving.

Doesn't matter. Lorio won't pursue anything.

That's the big thing going on right now. The issue was Cam's father was caught up with one, the investigation was never about AU there. People have no idea how common street agents are.

It will be good to see what comes out of the STreet agent on criminal trial in Columbus.

I said that and I stand by it.

SbB proves this in what he wrote in that post....

"In my breaking the news of the NCAA investigation of Auburn in Thibodaux on Wednesday, it wasn’t a coincidence that I reported the who, what, where and when but didn’t dig into the why."

He only broke the story because he and Evans are buddy/buddy and he knew the Evans article would be coming out that day, which he alludes to in that "breaking news." How do you break the news when someone else has already written an article about it and all your doing is saying what the article is going to say? I guess if he wants to take credit for it, that's his thing, but that's pretty low rent if you ask me.

Evans is the one that skewed the facts on this story. Brook was just following his lovers information. Evans has to find something on Auburn or Fox will let him go.

there's a difference in going after a story and the job that Evans is doing... You don't see Pete Thamel writing this kind of crap. Thamel may have a bone to pick with Auburn, but at least he's got some amount of integrity... Evans has none.

Well what's the problem with street agents? If they merely offer advice on which school to attend, well, no biggie. But then they really would be mentors. However, they are called "agents." Why? Because agents, unlike mentors, get paid. Who's paying these agents? Is it the kids? Nope? Who can it be then? Shot the dark, but maybe alumni?
