I honestly felt like the Iron Bowl score on the grass, and the Cam jersey on the Bear statue were just harmless pranks. I found them somewhat funny, but one of my close AU friends was disgusted.

This jackass has taken things to a whole new level though. They need to make a good example out of him, before anybody else gets any ideas.

This is pretty much how I feel. I want an example made out of this fricker.

Good, then they can re-build it and name it "Saban Chimes".

First of all, the rye grass score thing was funny, as was the Cam Newton Jersey on the statue. Neither one of those things IMO hurt anything and were clever pranks, not vandalism.

Things like painting a statue etc, that actually causes damage to something is taking it too far. And poisoning those trees is plainly criminal.

That was like someone playing a harmless joke on a friend or a co worker and they retaliate by cutting the brake lines on your car.

I agree but it doesn't take much to push a crazy man over the top. Not justifying what he did, but he wouldn't have done it had he not been pissed over some of those "clever pranks". Either way the guy should serve his punishment and au fans get their "poor me" moment for the media.

You need to remember he did this well before the rye grass. He did it right after the IB. He was not "pushed over the edge by clever pranks".

Might have been before the rye grass but it wasn't before the cam jersey thing. I think he even mentioned that in his phone call.

He needs to pay not only for appeasement of Aubies and their pound of flesh, but as an example. I expect retaliation will happen anyway, but you need to do all you can so anyone getting caught with serious retaliation will at least have been warned.

Exactly. I hope no crazy Auburn fan retaliates, not just because I don't want to see any part of Bama tradition/history destroyed, but I don't want to see this thing get any uglier than it already is.

Imo this is why "harmless" pranks aren't a good idea PERIOD. Especially when it comes to a rivalry like UA and AU. Things will always escalate and the other side will always try to "out do" the other side. It is all immature regardless of what is done.

I love the rivalry, but I don't want anyone to lose a job, wreck their car, beat their wife (or get beaten, poor frick) you know? I want it to stay fun.

I thought he said he did it after the Auburn/UGA game?
