not saying yours is Germans, but did we really need another thread on this?

This appears to have replaced "conference expansion" as this year's off season topic of choice and I am already sick of it.

Big 10'ers have latched onto this like some sort of cause. I guess they think if they can convince the NCAA to outlaw oversigning, they stand a better chance in recruiting against the southern teams.

There's no way five SEC teams, including Auburn, have oversigned more than Alabama. Only Alabama oversigns then cuts people/greyshirts/redshirts/etc. There's just no way those facts are right.

Thank your buddy TiM.

Apparently nobody wants to talk about oversigning when actual facts are presented and its not some 'bash Alabama on speculation and perception' thread.

For example, if team A (pun intended) has 75 scholarship players that are academically eligible to return the following season and then signs 25 new recruits in the spring, there are 15 of those players that will not be able to legally enroll in the fall.
The issue is whether all of those 15 players are being handled fairly.

What the hell is Troy doing signing 164 over that period?
State of Alabama representing strong with 3 schools in the Top 10

Nothing better than a good ole oversigning thread.

Or the other real issue is when you kick players to make room. Signing as many as Au has and such a low grad rate for black athletes, leads everyone to believe that Au has oversigned and gone crazy getting rid of players to be under like they are.

Alabama is 6th in the SEC in oversigning? How can this be?

This board is becoming cluttered with over signing threads. Nobody cares about it. If they do, they will get over it, because teams aren't going to quit doing it.

I'm with you. These facts don't support the other facts. I'm calling BS.

So Auburn makes extra room by not providing their athletes with what they need to stay academically eligible. Bama makes room by cutting for discipline issues and lack of performance.
Either way, when you are signing this many players a year, room is made for the new kids one way or another.

Bama's isnt great by any means, but it's at least over 50%. And again, you can thank TiM and his legion for bringing light on this subject in all forms with his incessant threads about it the past few months that many others had fun jumping on. Now that Sports Illustrated has Auburn as the number three in the country in oversigning, he'll get his fill of hearing about it.
