well considering the beating UGA laid on LSU that year I dont think Mauck would have made too much of a difference so theres one L there (I dont remember any other LSU games or their results from that year...)

Probably 2. Having Joe Montana wouldnt have been enough to beat UGA that day.

Lost to Auburn by a point on a typical BS call and lost to Iowa on a hail mary on the last play.

Man that was the Iowa hail mary year, wasn't it... Ya I could see LSU being 11-1 then. Damn, had LSU done that and UGA not lost to Tennessee, you're looking at three 11-1 teams in the SEC (UGA, LSU, Auburn)

Who was LSU's QB? If AU LSU had played later in the year it didn't matter who LSU's QB was.

Russell and Randal split most of the time. Flynn saw action in bowl game and a couple other games but mainly to hand off or run the ball.

most Marcus Randall. JR saw a good bit of playing time as well.

That team had plenty of talent to win without Mauk I seem to remember that being a team that spent more time reading their press clippings than playing to their potential.

They would've beaten Auburn's arse. We beat them 10-9 that year.

LSU would have beaten Auburn badly. We lost 10-9 and led 9-3 until late. Mauck would have changed things offensively a great deal.

In doing so, LSU would have gone 10-1 in the regular season and would have won the SEC West, playing Tennessee for the SEC Championship. I think they would have won that matchup and would have played Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

LsU's big problem that whole season was poor QB play. Change that with Mauck and LSU would have been 12-1 and conference champs.

Probably been beat to death, but the bigger question should be what would LSU's record had been if RP hadn't been kicked off in 08 and 09? I think UF beats us both years. But we probably play them in the SECG one of those two years. Who knows.

We would have had a shot against Auburn, but lose to Georgia. We win against Auburn, we're in the SECCG against a very average Tennessee team. Thus, we have a chance to return to the Sugar Bowl, and I guess play Va Tech. I have no doubt we would have been better, as the defense was stout, but inconsistent QB play plagued us all year. Most likely Marcus Randall would have transferred to 1-AA, and Jamarcus would have played mostly mop-up duty.

no doubt in my mind it would have been 11-1.

04 was very much like 09/10

The thing I remember most is Xavier Carter taking a knee at the 1. That about summed up that game versus UGA.
