I haven't kept up with the whole OM mascot change thing, but was curious if they were getting rid of the rebels altogether or keeping the name and just changing the actual mascot. TIA

They have to now. any school that caves to that type of political correctness can no longer refer to themselves as rebels. They should have changed their name to the liberals and had elton John for a mascot.

No. Does an elephant relate to crimson tide? How about blue tick hound to a volunteer?

If I were an LSU fan I would be hoping this too, considering you have a lot of trouble beating us lately

Not trying to flame, but I do think within 15 years they go with the full switch. It's been a progressive thing, from the flags to Col Reb to the fight song. I'm a LSU fan, but I'd still hate to see it happen. It's sad to see the traditions fade, but if I had to bet I'd say that by 2025 you'll be watching the Ole Miss Bears

Once you've started running, it's hard to stop.
Yes... It's only a matter of time.

Alabamians hate liberals almost as much as bin laden

This is one of many reasons that you'll die alone, scoop.

It's the incrementalism of political correctness. The change started in the late 1980s and will continue every few years until "Rebels" and "Ole Miss" are gone too. Next will the the Confederate statue in the circle. About 10 or 15 years ago, there was a Confederate statue removed in the middle of the night on a TN campus, though I don't remember which school. Don't laugh my fellow SEC friends, your school is next-any semblance of the old South, bldg name, etc. Now, if you must laugh at something, how about our gay-arse teddy bear mascot.

Colonel Reb is certainly crying now. Weeping is more like it.

Legally impossible. The statue is a national landmark.
Go take your fear-baiting to fox news. They'll probably give you your own show.

Weren't you the poster who said it was a bad idea to remove the flags?

Not true.
Don't know a single person who wants us to be anything other than the rebels.

You may want to be, but your actions are anything but rebelious.
