But we aren't as good as half the national pundits and our fanbase thinks we are.

Florida turned the ball over. Yes those were forced, but we weren't really stopping them. The three biggest plays of the game in my opinion:

1) Jump Pass = Turnover
2) 3 & 1 Drop
3) Dre's Interception

I realize that these turnovers are forced by a defense that at first look (points per game) is pretty good. My point is, that at some point, teams aren't going to turn the ball over.

We still have trouble stopping the run. Florida had 7 passes of 17+ yards and they are by no means a passing offense.

From here on out teams will be getting two weeks to prepare for us. That means right now Houston Nutt is drawing on a napkin somewhere getting ready for his offense of the week.

I'll say it again. There's no way we are getting to the SECCG undefeated.

And for that matter, I believe we are in trouble this weekend and honestly don't think USCe is that good.

I agree, but it isn't because we are not awesome. It is because of the schedule. If we play our A game...we can not be beat.

WHO is going to stop you?

LSU?

Auburn?

Tennessee?

No one has the offense to match up with your defense. Auburn is the only team I can see giving you fits, but even then I think you will shut them down.

I don't see how you can't go undefeated, honestly.

i can concede to some of your points. realism is good.. but to say shite like THIS above is asinine. to think there's NO frickING wAY is just plain ole retarded. we definitely COULD end up undefeated.

correct, the scoreboard didn't indicate the level of victory we had. did you see our coach happy about the game after we played it? no. he wasn't happy one bit really.

stop being negative man just to get credibility from other team's fans. we're not unbeatable... but if perception is reality, then DO YOUR PART as a fan to help us maintain that persona to other teams. this game is hugely mental.

I definitely agree that we aren't the Juggernaut that a lot of people seem to think we are. We may make it to the SECCG, and we may even make it undefeated, but I think thats a symptom of the relative weakness of most of the conference right now.

I think Auburn has a damn good shot of beating us right now. Probably the best of them all.

I'm not drunk on our kool-aid either, but you have to admit that we look damn good. Our schedule is manageable, even with the teams off bye weeks. It's very possible that we will be 12-0 with a ticket to Atlanta, and it's possible that we drop one somewhere.

I think I know what he means...I worry when I see our fans hyperconfidence, because I worry that it bleeds over into the team's mindset. I'm not saying one DIRECTLY feeds the other...just that I wonder about a parallel loss of vision and reality...

totally agreed here.

i was thinking about this last week... i think fans and the ACTUAL type of conscious support a fanbase gives a team -genuinely- affects the on field performance. i think it's why UA has such success. i think our fans and how we see it, how much we love it... i really think that affects everything.

i'd wager a lot of money there could be some REALLY amazing research that could be conducted on this.

It's not that we looked fantastic or anything, but Florida just looked terrible.

Any time you turnover the ball four times against a team like Alabama, expect to lose badly.

I'm kind of worried too.

Imagine that you guys played Florida nine days ago and us this past Saturday. The games were identical, would everyone in the nation think you are a new level of football team? Nope. Nothing changed except perception. You guys ARE very good, but every one thinks you had an anomaly against us and then destroyed an excellent Florida team and are now the college equivalent of the 1985 Chicago Bears. In reality, in our game we won the first half and you won the second half...you just did it by a bit more than we did the first half. Florida had bad, well-documented offensive problems that everyone overlooked because they killed Kentucky. You took advantage of those problems to perfection.
