“When I lay down sometimes, I feel like I owe the fans and maybe should think about coming back [next year],” said Green, a certain first-round selection if he comes out this year. “I just feel like I owe the fans for missing those four games.”

There sure is a lot of $$$ waiting for him. No chance, right?

Take the money and run, AJ. You've already done it once.

A talent of his caliber rarely comes back. It's the exception and not the rule.

IMO he should go and get the $$$$. I said that about Percy too FTR.

Most likely. It would be easy for someone on his level to have the wrong attitude, blame the NCAA, etc. so I give him props for acknowledging his frick up and wanting to make it right.

I don't think it affects the draft. Anyone?

Except Green will be making more money than Rolando if he comes out.

I just can't see Green staying another year. Unless... the NFL doesn't reach an agreement.

He is not coming back, but he does deserve alot of respect for admitting that he made a mistake and wants to make it up.

I'm not sure if anyone really knows the answer.

According to a Yahoo article from early September, the teams can still hold a draft, but they can't sign anyone if there isn't a CBA in place. Also, you couldn't go to the NFL team shop and get an AJ Green jersey (even if you offered $1000 for it). You could get a whatever team jersey with his number on it, but not his name.

Street & Smith's has an article teaser (I don't have a subscription required to read the whole thing) that reads: "NFL owners to lock players out when the labor agreement expires in March, but whether a lockout would be allowed to occur and whether a locked-out NFL could conduct a draft in April are question marks".

I have also read that a lot of people seem to think that although the CBA expires in March, the owners won't lockout until June or July - hoping to force the NFLPA to give in but not actually cost much in terms of preseason or the season.

I wonder what would happen if a junior went out for the draft, it didn't happen, and then the CBA went into place after. I guess the players would have to wait another year for the 2012 draft.
