And to think, Phil's time consumed investigations into Bama, leaving him little time to recruit and coach for Tn, has ultimately facilitated all this.

I have it on good authority that LSU is now Phil's favorite team, but if he think he is coming here, he better think again

Too bad they are only gonna be on the hook for secondaries at worst.

Depends on how long this VIP crap has been going on.

not to mention the gals that went to high school games.. I think they're still being looked at.

I think it's just a secondary violation as well. You can bet your arse that almost every football player in a college town is a "VIP".

Secondary or not you just don't want to draw attention no matter what its about (you never know when something small might lead to something big)

I'm pretty sure any violation of that rule is a secondary. Here's to hoping that isn't the case though and the Vols get hammered.

I think this is kind of overblown as a "serious violation.'
It would certainly seem to be a violation but about as nit picky as you can get since letting tons of "regulars" or "desirable people" ect ect in without cover charges is about the most common practice there is at bars.
I haven't payed a cover charge in 10 years in NY and probably-- due to business (I have a record label) as well as pleasure -- enter about 10 bars with covers a week.
I suppose it is the compliance department's job to educate the players on how insanely detailed the possible violations may be but this just doesn't seem like a big deal.

It's a good thing it's not an NCAA violation for you to do that.

You know Dooley is thinkin.."what tha hell did i get myself into!?"
Now Saban had to cull players too,but DD is gonna need a whole damn new roster.

Hope it won't affect my eligibility? I think I may still have 5 years to play 4 left.

This was an issue from day one of this saga. It'd be ridiculous to give anything more than a secondary violation. The only difference between UT and any other college is that the white trash owner of Bar Knox opened her mouth

Per Hubbs, UT's compliance has already investigated and is not worried about this. The bar allows all females in the bar for free, along with any semi-celebrities. According to some football players, they are not even allowed in free and the owner is lying.

Nothing should come out of this. It's a freaking $5 cover.
But IF the owner is a booster, then who knows. It would be hilarious though.
