Saying the SEC should add Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas A&M.

The Big 10 is gonna screw up college football with all this. The Big East and Big 12 might cease to exist completely and you would be left with 4 BCS conferences.

Dumbest idea for expansion I've heard yet.

I personally think that would be silly. To me that really spreads the conference out too much. I like the way it is now, no matter where you are in the southeast you can get to pretty much any campus without the drive being too extreme. If you brought those four in and went to two 8 team divisions - moving Bama and Auburn to the East - that is still a haul every year for the Mississippi schools, and LSU as well, to get to Austin, College Station, Stillwater and Norman and vice versa. Not to mention what it would be like when you have the cross divisional games.

The other downside of a 16 team super conference is scheduling. Do you get rid of playing every team in your division and play like five and three or four and four each year? Would you play all 7 other teams in your division and play only one team from the other side? Do you increase the conference schedule to 10 games and play 7/3 and only get two OOC games (which would end up being cupcakes every season for everyone)?

Can we not just leave things the way they are? I mean, frick. I don't like Arkansas but I don't want them out of the SEC.

The SEC is not going to expand and none of the teams who are currently members are going to leave.

Next.

They're being morons on this idea. Adding Ok St or TAM is basically doing them a favor. They're filler, basically USC and Ark(sans Richardson and McDonnell hardware) Part Two. Yet, I know they would be package deals to get their respective state's largest U.

Why does LSU, Ark, Miss, get jammed in via the addition of four to the geographical western side of the conference, while UF is allowed their whole massive geographical and populaced state as the lone SEC entity?

If you want to add Texas the state, and it's two largest schools, as to add market size and open their state's recruiting grounds further to all SEC schools, the only fair and equitable thing to do, is to be able to persuade Miami and FSU to leave the ACC for SEC, thus balancing UF's recent dominance in the Sunshine state, where they reign supreme of late over FSU and Miami, much of which is aided by being the SEC's lone Sunshine school, and kids wanting to compete in the SEC.

LSU and others get some kids out of Fla, but fewer of late, where UF and Bama lead the way for Fla's best, along with FSU and Mia's recruits.

Fair is fair, if I'm LSU, Ark, Miss, MSU, and assorted Eastern Division school's ADs, I only add the Texas schools if Mia and FSU also agree to come along.

P.S. I'm against any expansion, as I think the SEC doesn't need to, from it's position of strength. And personally, with SEC Foots and Bases strength, think the addition of only a great Hoops school or two should be a focus as to aid the SEC in competing with the Big East, ACC, Pac-10, and Big Ten for national hardware..IE..Louisville..UNC..or Duke.

If the Big 10 expands to 14 or 16 teams I could see the SEC following suit. I would guess the SEC would go after FSU or Miami for the east and Texas or Texas A&M for the west. Everything else would stay the same.

The only hypothetical Conference that even looked realistic was the ACC, imo. With USF, WVU, Rutgers and UConn. The BIG 10 just had too many teams. The Pac-10 just looked crazy with Kansas ans K-State. And Texas and OU to the SEC? C'mon. Those two teams are the heart of their Conference. That would be like taking Florida and Bama out of the SEC moving them to the ACC or whatever.

Ugh....

Add Texas, Texas A&M, Clemson, and Florida State.

Expand into Texas...solidify Carolina and Florida.

I want to keep the SEC a regional thing, and I feel Texas and Oklahoma are too far west.

Why not Georgia Tech and FSU?

I for one do not want any Texas teams in the sec... We would all lose tons of recruits from Texas that came here to play with the best

if we booted r-kansas out of the SEC, who would SEC teams schedule as homecoming opponents?
