It's funny. He wasn't even the best player on our team in little league. He was always a scrapper though. I played with Chris Heath too. He went to Tennessee. I don't know where he's at now.

Yea Chris went to UT to play baseball and football. He was a dandy dozen in both football and baseball his senior year. He was really good at both as a FR at UT but then got injured (it was actually on a highlight reel hit vs Tha U at Neyland, can't recall the exact year) and I seem to remember him doing something stupid that caused him to get kicked off the fball team and he sputtered out.

Damn shame too. Heath was one of the best overall athletes to ever come out of Hattiesburg. Dude was hitting like 350 ft shots and throwing like 80-83 in dixie youth

It was frightening to take BP from him in practice.

Baseball: played against Matt Cain (SF Giants SP) and Josh Smoker (SP, 1st round pick by Nationals in 2007 i think)

Basketball: JaJuan Smith (started for University of Tennessee for 4 years ending in 2008 i believe) and Stephen McClellan (1st guy off the bench for UT-Chattanooga in 2009, then not surprisingly got kicked off the team for grades or something)

Played against Warrick Dunn our freshman year HS (football)

Played against baseball (HS):
BJ Ryan
Trey and Todd McClure
Kevin Shipp
(played against a lot of lsu baseball players)
can't remember their names, but the two SSs that played at Denham and St. Amant(or EA..can't remember) '92 both got drafted out of HS
Played against a couple of guys my freshman year in college that got drafted, and I don't know how far they got. One broke the NAIA homerun record.

I played baseball with Mark Grace, but he was two years my senior. He hit a HR off me the first AB....I hit him in the ribs in his 2nd and tried to hit him on his 3rd AB. Yes, it was Little League, but nobody hits a HR off me without paying for it!

I also drank a beer with Lance Armstrong in Nashville a couple of years ago. For the record, he told me in confidence he never took any performance enhancing drugs and never will!!!!

Jason Campbell - QB Raiders
Tim Duckworth - OL Saints
Von Hutchins - DB Falcons? not sure if he still plays.

I played with/against several football and baseball players that played D-1 ball but I forget most of their names.

I played high school football on team with Terrell Owens at Benjamin Russell High School.
He was #80 and I was #79. I have 2 team pictures sitting next to him. He played WR and I was OL but mostly bench . He did not catch well in HS, really did not start til his senior year. Little known fact: He went to UT Chattanooga on a basketball scholly as noone was offering him in football. Walked on the football team at UTC. He broke every receiving record they had. Somewhere between age 17 and 19 dude got much bigger and faster and just blew up.

Carnell Williams, Etowah High School
Brodie Croyle, Westbrook Christian
Eric West, Southside High School
Gerald Wallace, Childersburg High School
Maurice Dupree, Cherokee County High School

Played Summer Ball with Brodie and Eric, played against Carnell, he was a pretty good basketball player as well and got dunked on by Gerald Wallace, I was a JR he was a SR that looked 30. Actually got to play with Maurice, probably one of the best all around athletes I have ever seen. He went to GSCC on a basketball scholly for 2 yrs then transfered to JSU and tore it up on the Football field, signed with the J'ville Jags last yr and spent time with ATL as well. Good guy

I don't think I ever played with/against anyone that famous. I went to a small inner city school (800 kids total), and it seems like the big names out of Atlanta come from the bigger (1500+) student populations.

My senior year we scouted George Lombard (drafted out of HS by the Braves, kicked around the majors - Braves, Nats, Rays, Tigers) because would have played him in the next round of the tourny but we got ko'd.

Also played baseball with a guy named Earthwind Moreland. He graduated the year after I did. Went and played football at Ga Southern, then kicked around the NFL with several teams. Ended up playing his las year with the Pats in 2004 and got a ring.
