Ronnie was being recruited hardcore by GA but they wanted him as a safety not RB, AU stayed on him as a RB and he ultimatly signed with the Tigers, now Cadillac was pretty solid to TN until Gerald Riggs Jr signed with the Vols which opened the door for him to go to AU, AU wanted him all along but the Riggs thing solidifed him to AU. Both turned out to be pretty good football players IMO. Speaking of James Stone how did he do this yr, I saw he cracked the starting line up late in the year. I think he'll be a good one.

JSU has taken on a few questionable athletes over the past few seasons but as a graduate of the university I can say Perilloux was on his best behavior and Crowe has been pretty good at keeping these kids on a tight leash. JSU has won 2 outright conference titles in 04 and 05, they had the best league record last yr but due to low APR ratings they were not eligible. Bottom line is you do what you gotta do to win games.
Carnell Williams, Etowah High School
Brodie Croyle, Westbrook Christian
Eric West, Southside High School
Gerald Wallace, Childersburg High School
Maurice Dupree, Cherokee County High School

Played Summer Ball with Brodie and Eric, played against Carnell, he was a pretty good basketball player as well and got dunked on by Gerald Wallace, I was a JR he was a SR that looked 30. Actually got to play with Maurice, probably one of the best all around athletes I have ever seen. He went to GSCC on a basketball scholly for 2 yrs then transfered to JSU and tore it up on the Football field, signed with the J'ville Jags last yr and spent time with ATL as well. Good guy
You do not have to have a college degree to be a D1 coach, look at our swimming coach he is still working on his BS in Psychology I believe. Person had no HC experience that was the thing that killed him. I agree coaches should have a degree because they are selling kids on being student-athletes, however it is not a requirement at the moment.

I don't know if Darrah will crack the rotation at JSU, they just signed the state of Alabama's Mr. Football and the Ivory kid that was the backup last yr is impressive. I heard good things about Darrah last spring but no much after that...as for guys who might jump ship at AU I am still not sure, we have 12 recievers on scholly and the top 2 from last yr return in TZ and Adams, add Benton, Blake, Stallworth to the mix and Reed, Goodwin, Kitchens coming in it's deep, hopefully they will be redshirted and add to the depth for the future. Any news rumors at the Capstone regarding Jackson??

He is a stud, rushed for 1800 yrds this past season and just missed winning a state championship. He is definatly an athlete, has played QB, RB, and DB. Looking like a safety at AU
