When I was a kid, it was held at the Superdome one year. That was great. Is there a reason other than proximity for the Gumps?

Its really more to piss off lsu and florida fans than it is to help alabama.

I like how the Big 12 rotates their football title game. I'm not sure how they do the other sports, but I don't see why the SEC doesn't do this in all sports.

I agree that a rotation of venues would be great especially for baseball.

It should be at Turner field one year at least. Or at least Gwinnett and maybe Zephyr field another year. That would be a good rotation between three minor league stadiums.

The mighty SEC title game in a CUSA venue?

I wouldn't mind seeing it in Tampa though. Ybor City > Beale St.

Autozone is not a CUSA park. Memphis has their own stadium, but plays some of their bigger games there to get crowds.

Or possibly play it at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex

OK - everyone stand down. I am in charge and it stays in Hoover. Tired of hearing about it moving. Dang!

I would hope that slive and co have learned from the disaster that was having the basketball tourney in tampa.

Hoover is where the baseball tourney belongs

You know what the crazy thing is.. this thread clearly says baseball, I was thinking baseball when I came in this thread.. but when you said Autozone in Memphis my mind went straight to Memphis' football stadium and I started thinking of the football SECCG.

In my defense I do have experience in an Autozone sponsored venue in Memphis.

The Met/Regions Park does a good job hosting the tourney, IMO. It is actually geographically nearer the center than say NOLA or ATL. However, after going to a game at the new Box I wouldn't be upset with having it there. It's nicer than the Met.

This thread is started about ten times every spring.

One, Hoover apparently gave a better deal than other sites. Two, it's geographically in the center, relative to SEC campuses as a whole.

I don't think they will ever go back to having it on SEC campuses. Just my opinion. They don't even do that with woman's basketball.
